Season's Greetings Steemit Friends! 🎄
I thought I'd wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅🏻 with some of the BRIGHT LIGHTS from the BIG CITY! 🗽🍎
To be honest, as a Manhattanite, I try my very best to AVOID the chaos in Midtown during peak holiday season.
It's an understatement to say that it gets "krazy with a K".
However, it would be a pity and a shame to NOT venture out into the blustery cold to capture and share with you this year's luminaries!
So, I now present to you the SPARKLE and SHINE of Fifth Avenue and beyond... this post is PART I.
Fifth Avenue
Saks Fifth Avenue on Fifth Ave.
Just another two blocks south on Fifth is Saks. This year's holiday display is in honor of the 80th anniversary of Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Let's take a peek at the animated windows 👀...
Oh my! 😨 I would comment on her ghastly and haggardly appearance, buutt, how that looks is how I feel most mornings... Hmmm.... I feel that this window needs the caption, "Pick your Poison". 🤔
UP NEXT IS...
Rockefeller Center
On the other side of Fifth (opposite of Saks) is Rockefeller Center. I'm standing in the Plaza. I think we get a good glimpse of the tree 🎄 and the Rink from this angle...
It's after 11 p.m. on a Monday night and look at how packed the Rink and Plaza are! Sssooo sooo glad I did NOT try to do this during the day...
The gloriously gargantuan Tree is here for you to visit through January 7th. Then it will come down. However, its sacrifice isn't wasted. The Tree will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. An excellent cause indeed.
For the eleventh consecutive year, the 2017 Christmas Tree will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. Once the holidays have passed and crowds have dispersed, the tree comes down and is milled, treated and made into lumber that is used for home building.

Lotte New York Palace on Madison Avenue
There's another fabulous Christmas tree just a short walk away from Saks Fifth Avenue, directly across from St. Patrick's Cathedral on Madison Avenue...
In the courtyard of the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, tucked away from the throngs of crowds, you'll find a beautifully decorated tree quietly awaiting your visit.
Clearly, BIGGER isn't always BETTER!

Thank you @alexpmorris! I always enjoy your blog commentary. Wandering Fifth Avenue late in the evening is probably the best way to see the windows and even then, it was crazy crowded. Hopefully, others can kinda enjoy this without dealing with the pushing and shoving! And the freezing cold! That was my goal! ; )

I'm just a middle class student who wants to earn money to support my own studies. We don't have money so I really doing my best to find any source of income so that my parents wont worry anymore about me. Even so, I'm still grateful with my family and thats the true essence of christmas if you are with your family and friends. I just I want you know that I'm a fan and I really like your works. I really love the tree! It is huge! The lights are beautiful. I imagine it could be overwhelming to be in the city during the holidays. Who am I kidding... I live really rural, so I think it would be somewhat overwhelming to me on a slow day.
Oh, it can be overwhelming for us city dwellers. Too many people packed into small boxes. In the country, you get to enjoy the freedom of the wide open spaces! Minus cockroaches, sewer rats, violent bums and mole people!
Oh no, in the country there are down sides. Like field mice, and panhandlers at the local Walmart (which is one of the few options to shop at in the entire town). I don't know what mole people are, so I have no comparison lol. There are definitely pros and cons of them both lol.
True. I guess the goal is to be location independent. : )

Truthfully, this year wasn't as Christmas-y compared to years past. Oh well. Hawaii for Christmas might be a special treat!
