So the beginning of our day started at Mongkok Markets. We were unaware at the time that these markets consist of 'the fab five' below:
- The Ladies Market (Night Market)
- Fa Yuen Street Market
- Goldfish Street Market
- Bird Market and Garden
- Flower Market Street
All of the above are walkable between one another and to this day, we still don't know which one we ended up in haha. The markets are crazy busy but fascinating. So make sure to give yourself some time and beware to be amazed.
After our time in the Mongkok area, we headed to the Hong Kong Science Museum and we had such a laugh. It may not be an obvious choice for those visiting Hong Kong but for free; well that's an opportunity not to pass up.
For our night cap, we headed across to Central Hong Kong again and found ourselves in the famous Lan Kwai Fong area. Known for its nightlife, this place was certainly atmospheric. You could see many expats and businessmen enjoying drinks after work. If others head here, make sure to do so during happy hour. It will still be more expensive than other areas but worth a visit.
We ended our night again looking out at the Hong Kong skyline (this time from the other side of city). There is a light show every evening at 8pm at the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade. The show itself wasn't too spectacular, so you could come here at any point of the evening and still see epic views (plus you would avoid the crowds).
Anyways here is to a crazy and busy day in Hong Kong. We wouldn't have changed a thing. Please come back tomorrow for more adventures !!!
