Hello Steemians! Here I am again. Today I’d like to tell you something that I love to do and it is traveling! When talking about Venezuela we have a lot of places to visit, there is no doubt that this country has everything to have fun and feel disconnected from world. Venezuelan people love traveling, it doesn’t matter if you go to the mountains, to the beach or if you climb a Tepuy (a table-top mountain or mesa) there in the Gran Sabana, there is always a perfect place to go.
Last year I went to Coro because I was visiting my family there and I decided to do something different because I usually do nothing more than resting, so I asked my cousins to go to the beach with me. In Falcón there are lots of beautiful beaches and they are frequently visiting by tourists from all Venezuela and others countries. One of these places in Falcón is Adícora, which is a village with a beautiful beach with the same name. Here some pics of me and my cousins.

Adícora is located north east coast of Paraguaná Peninsula and is to 24 kilometers south of the island of Aruba and its name means “Jajatal” (grass of brackish land). Here the map to have an idea.

You can go by road from Coro what will get 1 hour approximately or air by plane, this beach is protected by reefs and its fresh water more swell than western give you the opportunity of practicing different kind of water sports like windsurf and kitesurf, you can take classes or practice just in case you’re an expert. Here pic.
But if you are not a jock like me, don’t worry! if you just want to be relax I can recommend it too, in the northern part of this village you have several inns, they are like residences for rental and you have lots of restaurants too with the best venezuelan gastronomy, what actually makes me happy because I’m a foodie. It is so normal to find people on the shore who offer different kind of food but specially seafood. In my experience I’d never tried those aphrodisiac foods and that day I tried the famous Rompe Colchón.
And you wonder, what is a Rompe Colchón? Ok it’s this.
Rompe colchón (mattress breaker) or for its other names like Vuelve a la Vida (come back to life) or Siete Potencias (7 powers) is a typical cocktail served in Venezuelan beaches similar to a Seviche. Many local mollusks are used to prepare it like pepitonas, pulp, chipi chipi, guacuco, squid and shrimp. They also include peppers, onions, chilies, vinegar and lemon juice. Something that I heard is if it is Vuelve a la Vida includes tomato souce (ketchup) to bring a little sweetness. All of this makes a perfect Rompe Colchón and it is suppose that in a way it could makes you get a little loco
Once I tried this aphrodisiac food I could notice that is so tasty and cultural, all those flavors make a perfect balance of salty, sweet, sour, bitter and spicy. This without including, that you have lots of restaurants with the best food of the region.
It doesn’t matter if you try a Rompe Colchon and get crazy or if you decide to practice kitesurf, a lot of thing could happen when sitting on the shore or getting a chapuzón (to get into the water). Adicora has different activities for all kind of people or families, the sport has increased tourism and attendance in local inns but its scenic view and beautiful coast make you want to come back. People in Adicora are so friendly and hospitable, you’ll never cease to amaze you of what you can find, even if the wind stops or rain falls, you feel a connection with yourself. You have no doubt that this is what makes Venezuela a place full of wonder.
