We landed at Orlando International Airport around 10:30pm as our flight was majorly delayed from New York. It was time to head to Disney World and boy was I excited! I’d never been to Disney before and had always wanted to go, finally the time had come!

Unfortunately for us, once we got off the plane we got a little confused as to where we needed to go to collect our baggage. We waited at one baggage carousel but didn’t recognise anybody around us so we realised that maybe we might be in the wrong place. We went across the airport to the other set of carousels but still nothing. Finally, we went back across the airport and found the correct carousel, our bags were the only ones remaining as it took us so long to find them!

From Orlando airport Disney has its own shuttle service which was great. Basically at the airport they’ll check your reservation and put you on the right bus to your hotel. As you can imagine there were a lot of busses as Disney has loads of hotels. We got on our bus straight away but then had to wait about half an hour until we actually got going.

The trip from the airport to Disney wasn’t too far and before we knew it we were at the front desk of our hotel checking in. Everything at check-in went great and we were finally able to go get some sleep…. We thought our bad luck was finally over.

UNFORTUNATELY, we get to our room and the lights are on. We open the door and none of the beds are made and it looked as if there were still people staying in there. We quickly shut the door just in case there were people in there. I then have to walk back to the reception which is about a 5 – 10-minute walk AND I’m wearing heals. My boyfriend was exhausted so I just let him sit down while I went and sorted things out.

Anyway, I get to the front desk and the lady there is just as confused as I am. She’s not heard of this happening before and is so apologetic. She finds us a new room and gives me a $100 food voucher to spend at any Disney restaurant.
That’s when I had a feeling our bad luck might finally be over!

The Best Parts of Disney (for me)

  1. Avatar Flight of Passage (Disney’s Animal Kingdom)
This ride was truly unbelievable! It was a simulator where you’d been flying your own ‘Banshee’. They really thought of everything when it came to this ride. From the movements in-between your legs that acted as if the Banshee was breathing to the smells of the forest, it was incredible. The lines for this ride were crazy and some people ended up waiting 3 hours. We got lucky and on the day we were able to get a fast pass which gave us front of the line access at a certain time. I would definitely recommend this ride to anyone of any age!

  1. African Safari (Disney’s Animal Kingdom)
If you love animals of all shapes and sizes, then you’d definitely enj8 oy this safari. Disney has an open safari tour which goes for about 10-20minutes and showcases all your favourite animals. Lions, giraffes, rhinos and many more!

  1. Rock n Roller Coaster (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
For any of you who’ve read my previous posts then you’d know how much I love rollercoasters. There’s not too many roller coasters in Disney but the one’s they do have are a lot of fun. This rollercoaster was a pitch black indoor rollercoaster and it was so much fun!

  2. Expedition Everest (Disney’s Animal Kingdom)
Another fun rollercoaster. This one’s outside and even a Yeti makes an appearance!

  1. Toy Story Mania (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
If you’ve got young children they’d love this ride. It’s an interactive 4-D ride that takes you on a tour of the Toy Story World plus you get to compete against each other which makes it even more enjoyable.

They were my top 5 highlights of Disney World! It would take me ages to write about my whole experience at the most magical place on Earth but let’s just say it was my favourite part of our trip.

It was simply amazing and please if you ever get the chance to go then take it!
We were there for a week which gave us enough time to do all the parks including the water park. I didn’t want the week to be over but as usual all good things must come to an end. I also can't get over how amazing the fireworks were at Disney's Magical Kingdom.. definitely a must see!

We had another bad experience at Orlando airport in regards to the security lines being ridiculously long. Luckily we’d left ourselves with enough time to get through security and didn’t miss our flight back to LA!

Thinking of taking this trip woth my kids. Your story takes me back to when I was young. Minus all the stressfulness you went through!

The kids would love it! There's loads of 'character meet and greets' which all the children love (I hate to say but I think I'm a little too old for that now!)
haha yes it wouldn't be a holiday if there weren't stressful times!

Everyone should go exactly once, I think lol

Keep writing,, Thanks

Of Course! Thank you :)

Disney sounded like a great time! We had a lot of fun there about 10 years ago!

A good way to get some more views too. I really enjoy reading all of your trip posts! @mel1ss

Yeah, she never heard of it happening before...bullshit. It happens all the time. It's happened several times to me, and I don't even stay in hotels that often. One time people came in our room in the middle of the night, having just booked the room we were already in.

Maybe in your case they just hadn't made up the room yet. Usually, it's probably human error.

I suppose there was at least one advantage to the old days when there were physical keys.

Yeah luckily for us we didn't actually walk in on anybody, but didn't stick around just in case!
I'm sure it was just the case of beds not been made ect but at that time of the night we were exhausted and wanted sleep!

Plus we got a $100 food voucher out of it which definitely came in handy :)
