They are: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso and people call them Cinqueterre - translated it would mean Five Lands.
I still owe you post about my 2016. road trip to Tuscany I took with my, at the time 8 year old boy, and what we did and all the places we explored.

Just look at our happy faces!

How to get to Cinque Terre?

There are two ways - boat or train and you have to go to town La Spezia. A friend recommended we try the boat experience, cause it is more atmospherical and you can see more things. However, it is a bit more expensive (and we had to wait for an hour or more for the boat to come - so I would say: try train, cheaper and faster way to get to this Land of Magical Colors!

Bonus on traveling by boat: beautiful and colorfull landscape!

Did you know?

Cinque Terre is a national park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We chose Manarola as our final destination... The second village.

Villages are touristic hit destination, but with a history going back to 11th century... Our day was sunny and shiny, mid July and we spent it relaxed... Taking some photos, eating amazing Italian food (for me, best in the world - my favorite cousine) and - swimming. Yes, that's right. If you decide to visit this Italian gem, do not forget to bring your beach towel.

You know how people say: travel is the only thing in world you can buy that makes you more rich! I couldn't agree more.... Actually, I plan this summer to go for more adventures and explore some new amazing places... I promised my son I will make some extra money here on Steemit to get us there. ;)

The time passed too fast, like in most cases when you're enjoying like we did. It was - time to say goodbye!

In winter days like today, I spent most days at home, movies and blanket included, but like Blondie says - dreaming is free - I dream about new travel destinations...

Travel to Portland in the spring and you’ll see exactly why the town is known as the “City of Roses.” Portland’s climate is ideal for growing roses, which start to bloom in April and peak in June. You can see and smell literally thousands of roses at Portland’s popular International Rose Test Garden, which is one of dozens of unique parks and gardens scattered across the city. Don’t miss the Portland Rose Festival, which runs from mid-May through mid-June and features flower shows, parades, fireworks and more.

Wow @alice112, I would love to travel to Portland, but it is a bit far for now. Thanks for your lovely comment and I will put it on my wish list ;)

Loved the way you click pictures. Life is an unfoldment, and the further we travel the more truth we can comprehend. To understand the things that are at our door is the best preparation for understanding those that lie beyond. blessings to you ledy.
