A Place Of Diverse Beauty
Our family was lucky enough to see a lot of Canada a couple years ago as we drove around deciding where we should settle down and begin homesteading. It's hard to choose where I love most. Each part has its own divine beauty, and to me they are all equal in splendour. I'll let you decide...
Mount Robson, British Columbia, Canada
Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada
Peggy's Cove Village, Nova Scotia, Canada
Somewhere in Southern Alberta, Canada
The Hoodoos of Drumheller Valley, Alberta, Canada
Horseshoe Canyon, Alberta, Canada
Around Hope, British Columbia, Canada
Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada
Around Banff, Alberta, Canada
Pass Lake, Ontario, Canada
Montebello, Quebec, Canada
Cypress Hills, Saskatchewan, Canada
New Brunswick, Canada
Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, Canada
Cathedral Grove (Vancouver Island), British Columbia, Canada
Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
Tofino, British Columbia, Canada
Blomidon, Nova Scotia, Canada
In Quebec, near the New Brunswick border, Canada
Near Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
I hope you found these photos calming and beauty-full! Thanks again for witnessing our journey.
WOW!!!!!! I totally love all the photos of this great Country of ours. So beautiful. I have had the good fortune of seeing some of this land but not near enough. I remember being in Hope and totally being in awe of what I saw. I have the distinct pleasure of living in Nova Scotia so I have seen more beauty in the past three years than I ever imagined. So my heart lies here on the Atlantic Coast with all its splendor, but I have a secret crush on the West Coast and hope to visit a few more times before my days are over...shhh Tofino and Eucelet I am in love with you.
I know you'll get over there one day <3 <3 <3
OMG Lyndsay! Canada has the most unbelievable scenery.
Mrs Percy and I will be retiring in a few years and we are definately doing a big trip across your amazing country following in your footsteps.
It's been on our list since we met travelling in Oz and we still haven't got there.
It takes time to really do it justice so we decided to wait until we can have 3 or 4 months to really take a good look. Can't wait babe 😉
You're both going to love it so much...wow...I hope to be able to cook you fine folk a meal when you arrive, on the EAST coast :D Halifax!! :) :)
Mt Robson, Hope, Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island, Banff.
Been there to all those places.
One place I’ve been that I only wish I had pictures for is Williston Lake up in northern BC. You need to fly to get into there. There aren’t any roads. Williston Lake is outstanding. Completely clear crystal blue lake. I couldn’t take a picture because when I was there in 2000, I didn’t bring my old, crappy camera.
There’s a lot of Canada where barely anyone has been because of how remote it is. That’s a sign of a huge country!
Oooh wow Williston Lake sounds incredible...I hope I get to go there one day!
I had friends drive up to PG, BC from Washington State and they were absolutely floored by the fact that they could drive for hours and not see a town. Canada alone smashes the 'overpopulation' myth. There is so much room in this vast country for anyone to live, the reason we see 'overpopulation' is because folks are forced into cities to be on grid. If land were opened up and off grid technologies made inexpensively available, we wouldn't have any of these so called 'population problems'.
Way up in northern BC, I’ve heard stories about just how remote it can be.
There’s a ton of areas up in northern BC that I’m sure no one living has set foot on. I tree planted back in 2000 for the summer, and that’s when I realized just how big BC really is.
Damn, Canada for a nature lover like me is always breathtaking, creating a sort of homestead is my goal too!
I wish that all your dreams come true, and that you get exactly what you need @hz432creations! :)
Thanks for showing off our amazing country. I'm glad you've been able to take you're family from one end to the other. It's so beautiful everywhere, but mostly whereever you are😘
Thanks for appreciating the shots Ed, what's your favourite part of Canada that you've visited so far?
Its hard to pick a favorite. I certainly miss living in New Brunswick, but the okanagan valley is gorgeous. Good old Saskatchewan keep calling my name though. Cheers Lindsay!
Cheers to you too Ed, I was surprised travelling through Sask, I thought it would be all prairie, but the amount of green blew me away! Driving beside little lakes along the highway, and the green grass all around them, and then into the badlands, it was something else! I could only imagine that the north of Sask is beautiful too!
Absolutely stunning shots here @lyndsaybowes Canada truly is a land of profound beauty. I've been lucky enough to do a fair bit of travelling in your fair lands and I must say I absolutely loved every minute of it. Had a great time in Banff, British Columbia, Jasper, Lake Louise, Vancouver Island, Vancouver and then we caught the Rocky mountaineer for three days. If there were anywhere I would love to live in the world it would be Canada! Just seeing these pictures has made me long for a return trip. Thank you for sharing!!
Wow, you definitely saw the best that the West has to offer! I hope you didn't have to compete with too many tourists ;) Sometimes it can get pretty packed in Jasper and the Island in the summer.
Canada is beautiful. I would choose Nova Scotia, where it looks like seafood is fresh and abundant. Nice to "meet" your lovely family in the photos!
Cheers @cheneats, thank you so much for flipping through the photos, and enjoying the scenery. The seafood is very abundant here, especially if you like lobster! Do you?
Lobster is my favorite. Nothing is better than the freshly caught. I can eat them every single day and never get tired. :-)
Yes, this land is spectacular and breathtaking. Considering that we are the land as well, the people here are equally spectacular and breathtaking. I've been to almost all the spots you shared here, including Lunenburg and Peggy's Cove. :) I was there on a 4-H exchange trip back in 1985. We even took a fishing boat tour out into the ocean and saw islands full of seals and ate fresh lobster caught that morning. It was a spectacular trip. Not a straight road in the whole province. hahaha. Beautiful pictures my friend. <3 Spectacular. Well done.
Ahh, right on! We still haven't ventured on a boat journey, the ones that go to where the Puffins nest looks interesting, did you see any Puffins by chance?
What's 4H?
Wow, amazing pics! How cool that you guys got to just drive around as a family checking all those places out. Hope BC is my favorite, so beautiful up there.
I love the pic of all of you guys together with big smiles, what an awesome shot :)
Hope B.C....yea...where Clouds are Born, that mountain mist and all those massive cedar trees....sigh...I miss it at times.
I'm glad you liked the group photo <3 It's definitely one of my favourites of all time. Have you ever been in Canada?
Many many times. I'm about 30 minutes from the border and can be in downtown Vancouver in about an hour. Lots of beauty and magical places around here :)
Ok, so you are very familiar with the terrain, that's awesome! I've been to Washington State, it's gorgeous there!
From the looks of it you've been to many beautiful places :)
So, knowing that you love the magical side of things, what has been the most magical place you've been to?
It would be on Vancouver Island...especially on the West side...those trees man...those trees....
Goosebumps just remembering how I felt in their presence...
amazing photos Lyndsay, it makes me want to do some traveling again!
I'm glad you liked them, and I hope you do get out and do some more travelling, remember if you're in the maritimes to look us up!
Canada is such a beautiful country. So much wonderful scenery. And I love how for such a large geographic area, there are few people although a portion of the country is eternally frozen.
We are so flat and open in Florida...other than the beach, not a very scenic state. LOL
Thank you for the post as usual.
I'm gonna need all your warm photos of greenery to brighten up my winter Task :) :) :) I think it's very beautiful where you are.... <3
Fantastic pics. Haven't been to the west coast of Canada yet but we are eager to get there.
I reallly hope you do get over that way...it's pure magic!
@lyndsaybowes What great photos!
Canada is definitely on my list. ;)
I'm so glad that you enjoyed the photos @wiseagent!
@lyndsaybowes The quality of the photos is excellent.
What kind of camera do you use?
It is a canon t2i :)
@lyndsaybowes Nice work.
I can't wait to see this with my own eyes. ;)
I was in Banff about 41 years ago as a teenager on a YMCA trip. I can't remember what I saw there, but that was one of the places we've traveled to.
My guess is that you saw some very beautiful Mountains :) heheee!
Wow great photos from across Canada @lyndsaybowes , I grew up traveling and living all across Canada , my teens we ended up staying in British Columbia Canada , although I did travel back to Ontario a few times since then . Im actually now living not too far from Hope , in Kelowna B.C. ! And have also been to most of thethose places you showed in B.C ! Its a fabulous and beautiful Country with many nationalities ! I love it here and im a very proud Canadian ! Thanks for sharing , upped and resteemed !!👍👍👍
Awesome! I love the Okanagan :) It's soooo beautiful there with all of the fruit trees and vineyards...oooh and the lakes...and sea monsters haha!
I was born and raised in PG, so spent a lot of time getting away from there as a youth, BC has so many beautiful parts, I love the lower mainland and island, it's just too cramped and crowded for our liking so we tried the East Coast, and love it here, there's hardly any people! Nova Scotia's population for the whole province is only 1 million people :)
So glad to hear you have been to the Okanagan I moved here from Coquitlam by Vancouver about 12 years ago , and am hoping to get my little house built on a piece of property about an hour from here up in the mountains near a very small town called Beaverdell its south on hwy 33 towards Osoyoos , past the Big White ski resort turn off ! Cant wait to move out there in the country , its beautiful there ! But when we first moved out here it was to P.G town haha ! I was/about 12 years old I lived there in Prince George for many years , my first son now 30 was born there ! Haha , my mom originally worked out at the Baldy Hugh's military Station before it shut down and she transfered to Chilliwack ! Small world , its been very nic to have met you here on steemit !!👍👍👍
Wowwww...that is amazing!! I do know where Beaverdell is! Been there a couple times, it was a pretty wild party hahaha, us rednecks know how to git er done!
How cool that your son was born in PG, and couldn't wait to get out of there either I bet, whew that smell....!!! My dad worked in the pulp mill, you know the saying "That's the smell of MONEY".... LOL!!!
haha my step dad also worked at the mill over 30 years , they have all passed on now meaning my mom, dad and step dad ... But your so right , LOL we definitely do know how to have bon fires and party in Beaverdell ! My boyfriend who I am still with for 11 years now still is there and finished putting up our power shack this summer , will start building in the spring . Its actually in Carmi 10 minutes before Beaverdell in princess hills . I just stay in town and split a apartment with my 2 sons as its so expensive to live here ! That waye I don't need to commute and hour back forth for work as a night shift security guard . Soon I will retire out there , and party on LOL! 😂😂😂👍👍👍
Wow, I'm so sorry to read that you have lost so many of your Elders :'(
And your right about smell in P.G !! LOL you cant tell when live there but if you come in from out of town you can sure smell it !! LOL!😂
Yes, or when you fly somewhere from PG....and you get to your destination...and open up your suitcase....!!
Haha very true !! 😂👍
You well said that Each part has its own divine beauty. It's really difficult to choose one..Mount Robson, British Columbia, Canada. Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada....super amazing.
Ahhh...so the Mountains really call your Soul? Do you have Mountains close to where you live?
Yes, I like mountains, cold terrain, beach ect... But here is not mountains, cold terrain near my city.
Like, Tundra?
Yaa,somewhat!
Canada has son many beautiful places! Hoodoos are so very interesting to visit!
We had no idea there was such diversity until we travelled it ourselves, the Hoodoos were out of this world!
Looks like you had a great vacation. I love to see the landscape and the nature. Awesome location to relax. 👍
Thank you so much for checking out the photos JamJam!
Wow looks incredible. Always want to visit but its a long old way. Thanks for sharing the photos I feel like I have a mini tour :)
You're very welcome <3 <3 <3 I'm glad you enjoyed the tour!
Oh wow! What an amazing country! My husband's dream is to visit Canada and see bears in their natural habitat (From a distance obviously lol) and I am sure once we got there we would never want to leave! Such amazing landscapes! :O
I hope you get to fulfill your dream <3 <3 <3 What type of landscape do you live around @beautifulbullies?
We live in the Uk in Sherwood forest so we are pretty English Countryside based. I love it here, but it is really small scale compared to you pictures! It looks like heaven there to me
Ooooh Sherwood forest! Sounds delightful!! I guess the grass is always greener on the otherside they say...I love all the farmlands in the UK <3 And the heritage, it's so rustic!
Some absolutely stunning scenery there.
Mount Robson looks very impressive - makes our little mountains in Wales look like mole hills.
When I was a child and would drive past that mountain, I would always wish it was a big piece of layer cake that I could eat up haha! <3 <3 <3 Hugs for you @pennsif, and the mole hills too!!
that's the perfect world!!! really great photos, like posters... <3 <3
the family photos were so beautiful, also Pass Lake, Ontario and Vancouver Island inside that special tree, thanks for sharing these photos <3
You will love to come visit one day!! <3 <3 <3
Lovely pictures! I live in a forested mountain (Appalachia!) and some of these pictures reminded me of the places here!
I just looked through some images of your area, yes, very similar to Canada, this whole land (North America) was once called "Turtle Island" ... the same breathtaking beauty found all over. We are very blessed!
Indeed! I need to go take pictures out and about of my area. Lots of places to stand on top of mountains and just see for miles and miles!
Wow, that would be just amazing!! If you go for a walk in the mountains, and make a post, use the #walkwithme tag and I'll be sure to see it!
Thank you! I'll be sure to remember that!
My heart is soaring thank you for the posting.
I'm happy you enjoyed the landscapes @killbearwayne!
Excellent collection, all photos for a long time.
Thank you very much @cranium :)
