Szeged - a wonderful city in Hungary (Part 2 - restaurants and cafés I.)

in #travel7 years ago

We have visited Szeged, Hungary with my family during this weekend, in the previous post I shared some street photos and nice buildings, in this one I would like to give you a few tips for nice places to visit if you would like to eat out in Szeged.

Today and yesterday we started with a bottle of champagne in our room before going out for a dinner. I received this special bottle from my brother and sister-in-law for my birthday:

We did not want to pick the "obvious" choices: many people visit Szeged's most famous Cake Shop, the Virág Coffee House (https://www.facebook.com/viragcukraszdaeskavehaz/) and the Kiskőrösi Fish Restaurant (http://www.kiskorossyhalaszcsarda.hu) when they are coming to Szeged. This restaurant has probably the most tasty fish soup in the country and it is absolutely worth a visit, but we have been there earlier many times and though were quite satisfied with the service, this time we wanted to find and try new places. So this is what we come up with:

Tiszavirág Restaurant
(http://tiszaviragszeged.hu)

This is actually a restaurant, a bar, a hotel and an event center in one place. The gorgeaous building has a unique enteriour with very friendly staff. They have tasty and very special dishes on the menu.

They have a nice courtyard, it must be awesome to sit out there during spring and summer:

You can see the kitchen from the courtyard:

Even the washroom has a style with nice quotes on the huge mirrors... :-)

This is what we selected from the wonderful dishes of the menu:

Beef burger with coleslaw salad and shoestring potatoes

It was really great! Before eating they brought us a selection of home-made breads and Spanish olive oil. I can absolutely recommend you this place!
