Good afternoon friends! I would like to share my experience visiting the beautiful island of Bali. What associations are causing this place? My wife and I immediately flashed in our heads: a paradise on earth, an ideal place for a wedding, exotic and splendid, blue water, beauty and juicy fruit ... I do not want to exaggerate and say that this is not so. The rest turned out really well, as we learned not to pay attention to some nuances. And yet it is worthwhile to tell about them, since it is useful to know the future travelers:
1.High tide and low tide.
We rested in the south of Bali, the hotel «Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa 5 *». The beach "Nusa Dua" is wonderful and clean, but there is a negative moment: strong low tides. The water left about 1 km ahead and until 10 am it was not. The same thing happened after 16 hours. During the low tide, we observed a huge amount of algae that looked alike from a distance (photo below), respectively, the paradise beach was no longer so picturesque, having lost all its beauty, and we eagerly waited for the next day to see the blue water and to rock on waves. In the other part of Bali, on the beach of Jimbaran, low tides are minimal (a couple of meters, not more) and there is no such problem, but there is practically no tourist infrastructure (bars, restaurants of good level) in this resort: there are only fishing villages (but this is also a plus , still local flavor and delicious fresh fish and seafood), where you can find a cozy place and inexpensive dinner.
2.Danger.
Honestly, I'm not as ardent a fan of water as my wife, but I always preferred to stay with her until the water becomes ankle and walking on hands becomes impossible. Here in one of these low tides we met on our way a poisonous yellow snake with black stripes ... my wife, as I described above, "walked in my arms," and I walked next to her, the water was knee-deep, and then I noticed straight on course drifts real exotic - we did not panic, just walked around it and went ashore. Friends, be vigilant and careful while being in the azure waters of the ocean.
3.Water.
The southern part of Bali is bathed in the Indian Ocean. The wind there is strong, even the palm trees rock well, it becomes cool. But if you move away from the ocean for 100 meters to the pool, this problem is solved).
In addition to the beach holiday, you can book an excursion to the bird park, see a volcano, visit coffee plantations and taste delicious and famous "Luwak" coffee. But if you go to the volcano, you need to make sure that there is no fog and rain in the mountains, otherwise the guide will give you a photo of the volcano, which you will look at while sitting in a cafe on the observation platform :) We looked at it exactly (photo below).
It was funny - this very sight we should have seen firsthand, savoring this moment with a shish kebab and pleasant drinks))), but the fog was such that beyond 3 meters there was nothing to be seen. In the end, we laughed and still had a great time!
About the above points will not be told when booking, personally we even collected information before buying a tour, we saw only reports of small outflows. About the wind and algae, much less a short bathing day, no one wrote. In general, the feeling of relaxation is positive, the honeymoon in Bali, as my wife dreamed, we had a wonderful. Having learned not to pay attention to the above listed moments, we were able to relax. I'm glad if you liked reading this post and you learned something new for yourself :)
