LAGOS ISLAND TRIP WITH FRIENDS

in #travel6 years ago

Some have been wondering what I've been up to. The last five months before December were really boring but the few close friends I have, however gave me many things to look forward to as soon as we got together.

Long before December we had made plans to save and travel to any place within the shores of Nigeria strictly to have fun. The only catch was that we had just 4 days to spare on our adventurous journey.

The time finally came when our plans were set and it was time for the journey. PS: we decided to go to Lagos because there were more activities taking place there compared to other states.
We agreed to be on the road by 9 a.m but as typical Nigerians/Africans we didn't start our journey at the stipulated time because we were all late.

We drove down to Lagos and the initial plan of renting an apartment from a lady was torn down as she didn't pick or return any of our calls. We were frustrated as we didn't like the idea of being in an hotel for the next four days. We were technically stranded for hours and then we decided to go online to look for other available apartments. We kept calling and all except one apartment were occupied.
we Immediately booked the apartment and drove fast to the place because the owner could not guarantee that it would stay available for long.
When we got there, we were so happy the previous lady didn't return our calls because this apartment was topnotch and better than hers.

We had two rooms fully air conditioned with sparkling clean bathroom and toilet. we had a mini bar, a sitting room, a dining, visitors toilet, Kitchen, a balcony with a very nice beach view, a swimming pool. We honestly couldn't ask for anything better. It was expensive but totally worth the pay.

As soon as we sorted out the apartment, we had a little funny friendly quarrel with regards to the room each person wanted to sleep in. what we didn't realize was that none of the rooms was better than the other. For example the room with the balcony didn't have a big flat screen TV, while the other had.

We later went to get groceries at the mall.
As much as I hate cooking, I was the cook in the house because every other person was too lazy to cook.
One of the other guys was the cleaner in the house and the other two were experts at washing our plates.

After wards we made plans of what we were going to do for the remaining three days.
-We made plans for the beach
-Plans for friends coming over
-Plans for Wiz kids concert
-Plans to swim even though our parents warned us not to swim (normal fear). I was there to coach them so it wasn't a big deal.
-Plans to go paint balling.
Many other plans came in place as time went on.

Living the house on the last day was so sad as we wished we had more time. However we had to go back to our various homes because we had to be there to celebrate Christmas which was the following day. (African parents apparently take Christmas really serious).

We all live in the same state so we still had plans to see for the next one week after which everybody went back to their various base to resume work.

The experience was fun because that was the first of its kind and we had not seen in a year and a half.

We plan to go to South Africa on our next Adventure.
