in #travel8 years ago

Have you ever been to Italy? If you haven’t, this travel should be the first thing on your agenda! This great, amazing, incredible country will definitely hold of your heart. Everything is different in this country: people are very kind and peaceful; streets are more like labyrinths. Moreover, their pizza is undoubtedly the best pizza in the world! Anyway, today I’m going to tell you about another part of Italy – I want to tell you about some of not the most popular but very interesting cultural places, which were built many centuries ago or literally last year.

Medieval town Siena

The thirst thing I’ll tell you about is Siena. It’s a the small charming medieval town in Italy. The first view that you see getting out of the bus is an enormous high medieval wall which goes around all the town. The only one way to come inside is to go through huge and high, massive old gates. While they are opening slowly, you start to observe an ancient place which haven’t been reconstructed for centuries. Then you walk by the quiet and narrow, winding paved streets between ancient little houses. After this walk you come to the main square. There stays the main sight of Siena on this square - the Siena Cathedral. It’s a truly beautiful, breathtaking place. It has a form of Latin cross and it’s decorated with white and greenish-black marble. You can see the statue of John the Baptist, decorated pulpit by Nicola Pisano, Duomo’s art treasures and a lot of other things inside. I can also say that ice cream in Siena is a real art object too! You will never see so many kinds of such delicious and peculiar ice cream. Generally, this town has it’s specific, medieval, unrepeatable atmosphere which I want everyone to feel in his life.
You can see Siena Cathedral on the photo above.

Love letters museum in Abruzzo

This museum is stayed in a small village calls “Torrevecchia teatina”. This village is so popular just because of this museum. You can see thousands different love confessions. The most interesting fact is that some of these letters are more than one hundred years old! If you go there, you will have a chance to see how people told each other about their feelings hundreds years ago. What’s more, you can write something too and after that you will be a part of this magic, atmospheric place. The most interesting exhibit there is a declaration of love to the motorcycle. You can also see an unpublished love letter of popular Italian writer Hugo Rikkarelli. Enter in the museum is free. In addition to this, you can listen to the excursion in English or Italian language.

Palace Museum Querini–Stampalia in Venetia

I’m pretty sure you have never heard about this museum. It’s not one of the most popular places in this enchanting, spellbinding town. However, it’s pretty interesting, classic but a little bit unusual comparing with other museums like that one. It takes our attention from sunny Venice with it’s quite and endless channels and replace us in 1770th. It shows how people’s life was going on in Venetian palaces. There are many attractive rooms which are full of expensive cloths, decorated with elegant porcelain. Besides, you will have an opportunity to see the pictures of Longhi and Bellini who where very famous drawers in that century. You are completely immerse oneself in this atmosphere.

Non-Catholic cemetery Acattolico in Roma

Have you ever thought about a short walk through the cemetery when you are abroad? Do you think that’s a quite strange idea? The Non-Catholic cemetery Acattolico in Roma will definitely change your mind. It’s the cemetery with a huge ancient pyramid above. This place is literally a green oasis in the hurt of place full of life – Testaccio area. If you are an adventure lover, you should go there without any doubts. This place will take your breath with romantic wanderings.

In conclusion, Italy – it’s an amazing, breathtaking country, full of different lives in it’s different areas. You can find everything what you want if you really want that. There’s everywhere a bad side in our world, including Italy, like theft and violence, but if you’re lucky and careful, it probably won’t touch you.
It was a little list of some unpopular places of Italy. However, they are indeed not much less interesting and beautiful than Coliseum or Learning tower of Pisa.
