Always liked the wide open areas. Great sky views. That must have been one great adventure. I have always been drawn to old buildings. churches are awesome to. We here at Lawtey have a old church. Dates back to the late 1800's. lawtey church.jpg I can remember when they had the stain glass windows replaced with these, when I was a child.

I was trying to see if I drove through Lawtey... not sure that I did. Florida is a big place... i was there for a while but missed more than I saw. haha

I can guarantee you that if you took 301 south. Then you went through the small one red light town called Lawtey. It sets between the big town of Jacksonville and the college town of Gainesville. Florida has many old places and churches. Not to mention the old cemeteries.

Some set way back in the woods and are abandoned. Some are just markers of people forgotten. It would be nice if someone could take pictures and bring those old places back to life or at least document them.
