Interesting photos, @slowwalker.

There's something romantic and mysterious about ruins.

Desolate places appeal to our own desert places.

I once wrote about the elusive nature of this experience. "I am a statue in a ruins visited by rain."

It almost seems trivial to use such few words but when you think about it that's the only kind of poem that can be written about it.

Your photos of the water tank and the ancient foundations evoke the past vestiges of glory and like my poem are necessarily barren but convey the feeling.

Lonely places can be beautiful although barren.
