I saw an article today on Yahoo finance that mentioned that Costa Rica one of the friendliest places for expats. I have to say, I agree, except for the ranking. I think the people here are the friendliest. Mexico got the top spot this year.
The locals in this community have opened their arms to us, they love our kids, and we feel extremely welcome.
I might be a little bias, but I would consider the Philippines as the top place for an expat!
You should link the article you are referring to, I would love to read it!

Thanks for the link, I find a few of those interesting, I didn't think a place such as Norway or Switzerland to be on that list of unfriendlies.
We went to Switzerland last year. It takes a while for them to warm up to you, but once they do they are friends for life. Never been to Norway...or Philippines. Would love to go. Looks beautiful.
@fat-like-buddha wow - why thank you but its true! I didn't see that coming - but I agree,
and instead of Costa Rica, I think it's actually Thailand which should be 2nd or vice versa I wont really mind. I wonder what made Yahoo wrote that.
