Running Away From The Winter: Bali Edition or How To Spend Over 2 Million Rupiah (DISTURBING IMAGES) (Part III)

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Bali, so here they told me it is sunburn. Here, in the middle of nowhere in Lembongan Island, they told me it is an sunburn or allergy.

Bali, your people are absolutely kind-hearted and ready to help. I will always stay grateful for the random man who took me on his motorbike to that little room (my tongue does not roll to call it a hospital), waited so patiently and brought me back to the port even though I had no money.

Bali, may God bless your people for getting me to the soonest boat and organizing hospital pick up (even if, again, they told me it is nothing dangerous).

But Bali, when my legs did not stop expanding like popcorns that are about to explode... you know, at that time I was so pissed off at them.

It was already around 10 p.m. and I just took Uber to go to the first open hospital (3rd one that day).

They gave me a paper to sign: the approximate cost of everything they will do will be 2 million Indonesian rupiahs (could be more, could be less). I sign immediately, without even thinking. Two hours for the "so-wished" blood test results. We got ourselves an infection. Medium level. It has already started spreading. Lucky. On time.

Bali, I had to taste your antibiotics, but finally can say that I do feel better, and so my legs- they do look better now. It was a huge struggle and challenge. Not only because I was so far away from home, but also because I thought I will not come back.

In the moments like this, you really realize how much someone and something means to you. Just after I have landed I rushed to emergency. They gave me intravenous therapy and anti-allergens into my lower back, and after my blood was again taken, they told me that I will live.

Bali, I will come back. But this time no hospitals.

Tchau,
Ginta
