Da autoria dos Irmãos Bom Pastor, a estátua do homem do mar, em Esposende foi inaugurada em Dezembro de 1997 .
É composta por cinco figuras, quatro homens e uma mulher, e uma quilha de embarcação.
Simboliza o esforço das populações que tiraram do mar sustento e também daquelas que construíram as embarcações necessárias à faina marítima.
