Hey Steeemians, Hope you`ve enjoyed the weekend.
Yesterday was an amazing day for me. We visited The Hanuman Temple at Gogamukh, Assam (India). So I`m here to share with you some photographs and things there that amazed me. Hope you`ll love on scrolling down.
(Round sculpture artwork at the left between the Elephant and the Lion is Jaapi, It`s an important culture in Assam to offer a Jaapi to Relatives on their visit during Bihu Festival. Again at the right is Khorai,Similarly it`s also a very welcoming culture among Assamese people to offer betel-nut to the guests on it)
A zoomout
We travelled 138 km from Helem to Gogamukh Railway Station and then picked an e-rickshaw to the Hanuman Temple which was at a distance of about 3 KMs from the Railway Station. Totally enjoyed the journey..
I was thrilled to be there. I could feel the positivity in the air.
As for myself, I have a strong belief in Lord Hanuman.. To say he was my favorite among others may be with deep respect to other Gods :) However, Let`s enjoy the photos I had captured inside the Temple. (Fortunately they allowed me to take photos)
(Sculpture of the parents of the builder of this temple)
(Statue of Kaamdhenu and her calf.. Did you know Kaamdhenu was Shree Krishna`s loving Cow )
(Sculpture of Shree Krishna and Raadha)
(Sculpture of Shree Ganesh)
(Shree Ram, Lakhsman and Seeta)
( Sculpture of Goddess Durga)
( Sculpture of Bajrangbali Hanuman.. As mentioned in the Holy Book Ramayana, Hanuman was the true Devotee of Shree Ram, his God. And sacrificed the possible he could for Shree Ram. He was said to lift and bring a Mountain on his hand just because he could not identified the plant that could cure Lakhsmans ( Lakhsman was Shree Rams Brother). Hanuman has a very interesting character as mentioned in the Ramayana. As a boy, He opt to eat sun just taking it for a sweet fruit. Hanuman was very humble inspite of his great powers, Even he was said to break arrogance of many.. He was also praised for his jump to cross a sea just to bring Mother Seeta back after Raavan the demon king of Lanka Kidnapped her. After all, You can say Hanuman was self contained and selfless himself.. If you wish you can read about him here )
Other beautiful scene I encountered
These monkeys there look pretty cool, no? behind them in the walls is Lord Brahmaa
This paintwork really mesmerized me.
( Shravan's parents were hermits. His Parents' names were Shantanu and Gyanvanti. Having become quite aged, they therefore wanted him to take them to the forty places of pilgrimage. It is a typical Hindu belief that a pilgrimage to the various shrines and holy places, undertaken in old age, purifies the soul. At the time, transport was scarce and costly, and Shravan Kumar could not afford it. He decided to put each parent in a basket and tie each to an end of a bamboo pole, which he would shoulder while on their pilgrimage.)
(Great to see this paintwork too)
Here I`m with my Mom
(I should have worn Dhoti either? ;)))
