Due to time constraints, I only had time to walk around the Marine Bay in Singapore. Within that short time, I had a lot of fun with a couple mates and had the chance to see a some of Marine Bay. One of the first things I did notice were the many slick looking skyscrapers. Although I have traveled a lot, I haven't seen many skyscrapers.
What I also noticed, was how clean Marine Bay was. I then learned that Singapore has some strange, but cool laws such as:
- no reciting or singing obscene songs in public
- smoking in public places is illegal
- spitting and littering is illegal and can result in hefty fines
- you must flush your toilet
- no jaywalking!
Some are hilarious while others are great. But it's nice to walk around a city without breathing smoke, or seeing litter on the ground. There are many more strange laws, but these laws are good and effective.
As you walk around, there are several gadgets and projects on display, which I liked. Some projects were interactive and had workers there helping and explaining to people what their goal was, while others are more of an artwork. It wasn't packed or anything, it was spread all around Marine Bay. It's pretty much a creative way of keeping the place entertaining.
Marine Bay is mostly well known for its luxurious hotels, the casino, and the rooftop bar in Marine Sands. I did not have the chance to go to the rooftop bar, a few other friends of mine did though. They said it was an amazing experience and it felt so lively. Although it was quite expensive with an entrance fee and the drinks costing quite a bit, the atmosphere was relaxing and the view was amazing. I definitely would like to check it out next time.
I sadly didn't have much time to experience the night life there, but I absolutely love it when it gets darker and all the lights light up. It looks so cool.
I definitely would like to visit Marine Bay for a weekend and take more time to become familiar with the place. I would like to visit the rooftop bar and take a ride on the Ferris Wheel :) I would also like to visit the ArtScience Museum, walk through the gardens, visit the theater and if I ever have enough money - dinner at Wake Ghin. These are a few of my to do's...
I definitely would recommend you to visit this place at least once, but only for a few days, any longer might seem a bit dull. Once you do, let me know how you liked it; I love reading other people's stories.
Cool pics dude!
