3-Day Road Trip to Yellowstone National Park DAY 1-ish

Recently I went on a trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming with my girlfriend. It was a 3-day road trip going back and forth from Teton Village, Jackson to Yellowstone. But we actually landed in Salt Lake City, Utah. That means we still had a little more travelling to do. (That's why the title is "DAY 1-ish" because I am not quite there yet.)

Here is the journey:

We landed in Salt Lake City at about 11:50 pm on a Wednesday. Since it was already late, I needed a place to stay for the night because I had to get my rental car the next day. Stayed at Hyatt Place near the airport. The next day, I was greeted with this view right out my window because I could not see it the night before:

It was such a beautiful scenery looking out the window to this mountain view. It immediately set a nice mood for me for the few hour drive ahead. You might wonder why I landed in Salt Lake City instead of any other airports closer to Yellowstone, this picture sure explains a lot.

We called an Uber to drop us off at the airport. The rental car place is right next to the airport. Since the rental car appointment is at 12:00 pm, so we decided to grub at the airport.

Got a pepperoni pizza, not the best out there, but fills us up.

After getting our rental car, we were on our way. But instead of going north on the I-15, we went west and made a stop at the Great Salt Lake State Park. And I had no idea that salt lake is many times saltier than the ocean!

And it was also gloomy

After that we were on our way to our hotel in Teton Village. We took the I-15 and enjoyed all the beautiful views along the way. And we got to Idaho. We stopped at Idaho Falls for refueling and food. Then we headed to see Snake River.

We then again went on our way. This time due east.

At around 6:00 pm, we got to our hotel at Teton Village. I decided to get some food at the hotel and called it a night. The REAL trip to Yellowstone starts tomorrow. That's it for this post, stay tuned for the next day!
