As I write you in my other Castle, that I kind of fell in love with now making good photographies from old castles, buildings and stuff, I made a great trip to the village of Hohenecken. Actually it is a suburb of Kaiserslautern, the greatest populationwise city around my home village!!
Even I live near by for my whole life, I didn´t know there was a Castle there:-)!
Ok now I have to say Compared to the Nanstein Castle of which I posted 3 Parts it is a little bit Different, because it is more like of a CAstle Ruin. I mean Nanstein Castle was in top kondition compared to the following one:-)!
Anyway I hope you guys enjoy that as well^^!
I will start with the path to it:-)!
This was just the beginning of the very long path uphill to the ruins:-)!!
So finally I get their after a long uphill struggle on foot:-)!
But it was definitely worth it:-)!
Just look^^!!
Sorry but from the historical aspect I cannot give you any information, except that this previous castle was build way before the village around it.
ALso the entrance in Nanstein Castle was not for free. Here in this case, visiting and walking in that ruin is on own risk:-)!!
I did it anyway, because I think it was a beauftiful spot to make pictures:-)!
Such as these!!
But the best Part is yet to come:-)!
Around the castle there was an area which was surrounded by an fence:-)!
I was very surprised what that fence were for, here is why:-)!!
I mean there are living goats on top of the mountain right besides the ruins:-)!
I don´t really know what it suppose to look like, but I think it is some kind of wall doodle:-)!
Right beside that wall there was the main entrance at least I think so:-)!
It sure looks similiar to the nanstein castle entrance^^!
Here it is the peak of the Castle where the symbol flag waves:-)!
Besides the goat of course this was my favorite spot in the castleruins:-)!
This shut down fountain lying beside a great old oak flashed me in an instant:-)!
Ok guys that was it, I had again a very good trip to an complete unknown castle ruin, well at least for me:-).
Even though it was not in that kind of a condition the other castle was, it was still worth it especially the goats were so cute lying on the rocks like that:-)!!
Hope you guys enjoy it, and please leave comments how you like the pictures as well:-)!!
