A few short years ago, my wife and I spent a great deal of time in Utah. Southern Utah to be exact. We were there so often that we purchased annual passes to the National Parks. And by far, our favorite was Zion National Park.
It is roughly about 1/40 the size of the Grand Canyon, but it is part of the same geological formation. However, unlike the Grand Canyon where you have to hike or mule down to the canyon bottom, Zion has easy access from a tour bus. So you can either enjoy the scenery from a bus that makes frequent stops within the park.
There is a bus stopping at each trail head roughly every 15 to 30 minutes, so you can see the specific sites you are interested in. What few realize is that at the end of each tourist season, you can drive your personal car through the canyon. And stop for lunch at a wonderful restaurant.
Zion is beautiful. It is very majestic and just like the surrounding areas, is filled with imposing limestone formations. Also, a big draw is the red rock. One of my personal favorites.
The park is filled with wildlife. I've been within 10 feet of a buck and 3 does. However, the rangers caution against getting too close and you are not to feed the animals.
As far as accommodations, I recommend Saint George. A beautiful town with historical themes and a very friendly atmosphere.
My motivation for this post is an upcoming trip to the area. And the realization that with ll the time we've spent in the area, we have very few personal pictures. I plan on correcting that the next visit.

Wonderful info and the only thing missing is the country were it is located
Hi @joel5. Utah is located in the western United States. The park is located just a few hours from Las Vegas, Nevada. So the area is considered high desert, Thank you for your comment.
