Let me introduce you to the city where I work, a dynamic city located in the heart of the Laurentians: Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts
Current information
- The City of Sainte-Agathe has an area of 129 square km;
- It has 30 lakes on its territory;
- It has 10,223 inhabitants (2016 data).
In 1951, two years before being crowned Queen of England, Princess Elizabeth came to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. They attended a religious ceremony at Holy Trinity Church (where I got married !!!).
Twinning with our French cousins...
At 28 km east of Paris, within Marne and Gondoire, Lagny-sur-Marne seems to cultivate the charm of a provincial town, beautiful, friendly and dynamic. Its heritage, geography and business appeal.
In 1969, the city of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts signed a friendship pact with the city of Lagny-sur-Marne in France. Since then, several agathois have participated in cultural exchanges over the years while a program of the Association Quebec-France allows students to experience work in French soil during the summer. The City wanted to highlight this long friendship by giving the name of Place Lagny to the main gathering place of Agathois with a privileged panorama and located downtown on the shores of Lac des Sables.
Does anyone know Lagny-sur-Marne?
I plan to go to France eventually, in the Paris region ... is this destination worth seeing?
Lagny Park
I present you some pictures of Lagny Park, where the infrastructures of our "Bonheur d'hiver" festival are located, where a multitude of activities are proposed: zip line, slides, hebertism, hiking on Lac des Sables. I leave you on these few pictures ...
