The Moléson peaks at 2002 m. In summer, the slopes serve as pasture for the herds to make Gruyère cheese and in winter, they serve as ski slopes.
It is possible to reach the summit by footpaths. However, for skiing, it is more convenient to go to Moléson-Village, to use the funicular then the cable car. During the ascent, the landscapes are spectacular discovering here and there, a farm, a herd, an unobstructed view of the valley. Up there you can see Lake Gruyère, Lac Léman, Mont-Blanc.
Since there is no water at the top of the mountain, during the last lifts, the cable car transports water to its reservoirs under the cabin.
When the winds are favorable, it is a paradise for paragliders who descend to the village.
And to end the day, the cheese fondue at the top of Moléson has a special flavor.
