Juicy 4u (restaurant in Chiang Mai) - good; probably better if you are vegetarian

in #travel6 years ago

I am not vegetarian. I will eat almost anything and really like my pork and especially beef. However, when it is 7am there are not many options available and this place was open, so i went there.

This simply and small establishment is located in the heart of the backpacker part of Chiang Mai's famous Old City and seems to specialize in juice drinks with various additives that are meant to be good for you. I should try those one day but today i had a coffee and the stodgiest thing I could find on their menu - The veggie burger served in a pita wrap.

Another interesting aspect of their menu was the "build your own sandwich" options where there are 40 or so veggo options that you can throw into various bread delivery mechanisms. I was not in the mood for this having just returned from a very unwanted trip to the hospital so I just ordered something where they had already made the choices for me.

The staff was friendly, the music was at just the right volume and my veggie burger tasted about a good as I expected a veggie burger to taste. They didn't do anything wrong, I just prefer to eat meat. If someone out there is vegan or vegetarian this could be a great choice.

One downside was that considering how much a "dive" restaurant this was it had relatively high prices. This has everything to do with their location. If you find yourself near the moat (and you will if you visit here) then i suppose I would consider this place to be decent. At 7am it might also be the only option for you.

they don't have much of an internet presence so I located a business that does and put their address here instead

Hi gooddream. Hope you are ok and everything is fine. I didn't realize you could get so many options with veggie fillings for sandwiches. I don't know how you do it and are one of the most adventurous eaters I know of. I think I would have just stuck with the coffee.

well, as i hinted at in the article, it was merely my lack of mobility that inspired my choice to eat here. If i could walk and go up and down stairs like a normal human, i probably would have given this place a miss. They were very sympathetic to my situation though and get an A+ for friendliness and accommodating the temporarily handicapped.

Eating by 7am it seems very early to me maybe because you just return from the hospital as you said, their meal looks rich and delicious also

I am a vegetarian, this place is where i looking for. Thanks for sharing

Will pay a visit one day
