Santuario de Las Lajas

Uno de los lugares a los que se debe ir en Colombia es al Santuario de Las Lajas. Queda en Ipiales la cual se encuentra en la frontera de Colombia con Ecuador en el departamento de Nariño.

One of the places you have to go in Colombia is to the Santuario de Las Lajas. Located in Ipiales right in the border of Colombia with Ecuador.

Mi consejo es solo ir por un día así que obviamente hay que llegar en carro. Preferiblemente en la mañana, pasar la tarde ahí y regresarse antes de la noche.

My advice is just to go for one day so you gotta get there by car. It's better to drive there in the morning, spend the afternoon and then come back before the sun sets.

El Santuario de Las Lajas es algo único y no lo digo como una persona creyente, porque no lo soy, sino por ser una maravilla arquitectónica. Está construida entre dos montañas y no solo eso, también está por encima de un río. Abajo hay una mesas donde se puede pasar el rato en incluso comer alguito.

El Santuario de Las Lajas is something unique and I'm not saying it as a believer because I'm not but it is an architectural wonder. It's built between two mountains and not just that, it's also above a river. You cand find tables almost next to the river and you can hang out and even eat something.

Es un lugar muy calmado y la iglesia de estilo gótico es una joya de la historia del arte. Hay que caminar un poco para llegar pero vale la pena.

It's such a peaceful place. The gothic style church is a masterpiece of art history. You gotta walk a bit to get there but it's totally worth it.

Yo fui hace tres años así que las fotos están un poco fuera de la fecha pero el lugar sigue estando en el mismo sitio y sigue estando rodeado de montañas. Sin duda vale la pena ir. Aquí lo pueden ver entre las dos montañas, es ese punto gris.

I went three years ago so the pictures might be a little outdated but the place is still in the same location and is still surrounded by mountains. Without any doubt is a place worth of visiting. Here you can see it. It's the grey spot in the picture below.

Antes de ir fuimos (un amigo y yo) a un mirador y el paisaje realmente te quita el aliento. Yo soy de Medellín así que siempre me va a gustar ver montañas.

Before I went to the Santuario I went to a lookout where you can see the breathtaking landscape mountains give. I'm from Medellín so I will always like to see mountains and they will always take my breath away.
