I have previously written a post about Capri to show the beauties of the city I am from, Naples.
This post is intended as a continuation of the Capri's one that you can read here clicking on the link below:
Capri, Naples, Italy - Mediterranean gem
In this post I am going to show you
- Amalfi
- Sorrento
- Pompei
- Naples (a part of)
Amalfi
Amalfi is actually located in Salerno, not in Naples, but it is usually wrongly intended as part of Naples.
Amalfi is famous worldwide for its beauty given by the very unique position.
Between the 9th and 11th centuries, it was the seat of a powerful maritime republic.
Sorrento
Sorrento IS part of Naples and many people consider it the equivalent of Amalfi.
I believe that Amalfi has more beautiful scenarios and I like Sorrento more to enjoy a walk.
Pompei
Well, Pompei doesn't really need am introduction. I hope that whoever is reading this post is well aware of one of the main city of the Roman Empire, completely destroyed by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvio.
Here there are some pics from the archaeological site:
Naples
Naples is the city I was born in and where I grew up. I love the city and I hope you will enjoy the pics below took in different part of the city
'Presepe', very famous in Naples. It is an artisan sculpure that represent daily life or event related to the Nativity

Thanks a lot for those pictures.
I visited all those places in a great europe trip.
I like to add, that if you consider to go to the amalficoast by public transportation, make sure you get e place to sit in the bus. It is a long ride from sorrento and the road is very twisting. I'll go into more details in my own blog in the near future. Altough the coast is worth a visit, don't let me fear you away.:-)
Thanks again for the revival of those memories!
Cheers mate.
