Earlier, I shared a post about Neelam Valley which is called Pakistan's Blue Gem as well, today, it's Lahore, one of the oldest city (nearly 2000 years old) in the South Asia and second most populous city in Pakistan.
Lahore (also known as the Mughal City of Gardens) is famous for its historic culture and hospitality of its people. No matter who you are, which religion do you follow, people of Lahore have always welcomed and loved the tourists.
Let's tour some of Lahore's ancient places.
1. Badshahi Mosque
It was built in 1673 by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and is considered to be the most iconic landmarks of Lahore.
2. Shalimar Bagh (Garden)
Shalimar Garden is considered to a Mughal garden complex and its construction was completed in 1641. It is also considered to be the best preserved Mughal garden that has survived in the last 400 years.
3. Lahore Fort (Shahi Qila)
It is located in north-western part of the historical city of Lahore, covering an area about 20 hectares. It was built by King Akber.
4. Chauburji
Another great art built in the Mughal era.
5. Tomb of Jahangir
A tomb built for Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1637.
6. Anarkali Tomb
Lastly, I would like to share a video that my cousin made where you can see the life of a Lahori in Time-Lapse.

The pictures and time-lapse are marvelous. Does much British colonial architecture remain?
Yes, Mohatta Palace and Frere Hall in Karachi, Aitchison College and Government College in Lahore are some of the places I know and visited.
So those must be late-19th or early 20th century; if we consider construction since then, the city must have a really varied collection of architecture. It looks like a wonderful place.
It is, our government can actually earn millions of dollars if they promote tourism specially showcasing the ancient buildings and architecture we have but unfortunately, they don't care about these wonderful places.
My mother's sister lived in a house in Kasur (A small city near Lahore) that was built in 1850 and it is still there :)
