Today was a hot day, about 34 degrees Celsius. We decided to take a swim, but not in a typical swimming pool. We headed to Litchfield National Park and found this great spot called Wangi Falls.
This waterfall and swimming hole is suitable and safe for swimming in from about April to October give or take. It depends on the weather. In the dry season it's safe but in the wet season the water level rises and saltwater crocodiles enter the pool from surrounding river and creek systems. Just in case you don't know a "salty" will make short work of a human. They grow to around 6m in length. They are huge. Here's one I photographed earlier in the week.
There were none in the pool today, not that I saw anyway. :)
If you every get to this part of the world make sure you make your way to Wangi Falls for a swim. You will thank me for it!
Thanks for reading.
