RE: 4 Reasons Why I Chose To Be Homeless

in #travel8 years ago

That's some hardcore stuff right there. I did the traditional "quit my great job" route. But my "great job" really was a great overseas job that was everything I had ever dreamed of. But after 8 years of living my dream, I needed new dreams. I got rid of my apartment in Germany and went traveling for 2 years.

I came back to America to visit my brother and nephews, and ended up getting an apartment here. Now that I've been settled for a year, I'm ready to move back into my backpack.

Really enjoying your posts!

Thank you for stopping by @fronttowardenemy, comments like this is the reason I am inspired to write more here on steemit.

I hear you, I couldn't imagine myself going back to the corporate world. After traveling and living in other countries for 4 years, I came back to my home country finally. But of course, I don't fit in the puzzle anymore. I just felt more alone here that when I was traveling. It didn't make any difference anymore. I would probably move back into my backpack as well.

Goodluck in your travel!

I've already promised myself that I'm not going to work a "normal job" unless I'm completely broke.

This is my first time living in my home country after 10 years overseas. It's really cool to be a part of my nephew's lives, finally. But I still feel the call of the road. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied staying in one place for long periods of time. For now, I think it's important to be in close proximity to my family.

I know what you mean @fronttowardenemy. One thing we look forward to going home is to be with the ones who care about us, our family. In my case, I've been a stranger to them for so long, that it didn't make any difference anymore if I go back or not. Friends have moved on with their lives as well.

I found some freelancing gig, so I could work at home, plus steemit! I felt like I belong to this community of really diverse people.

So yes, I'd probably go back on the road in time!
