The World Economic Forum presents a report about the different countries of the world according to how do they rank in certain categories every 2 years. This year the Forum made a list of 136 countries and ranked them regarding the safety for tourists. Some of the main criteria for this ranking were how much every country exposes tourists to danger and how violence and terrorism affect business.

The Forum named Finland as the safest country in the world for tourists with the United Arab Emirates securing the 2nd spot and Iceland finishing at 3rd position.

What might surprise you is how the Forum ranked such countries as the UK and the US. The United Kindom came in at 78th place whereas the United States of America is the only 84th safest country in the world. Way below Zimbabwe which finished at 60th position.

At the bottom of the list we find Colombia with Yemen, El Salvador, Pakistan and Nigeria ranked as only a little bit safer.

Top 10 safest countries in the world are:

Finland
The United Arab Emirates
Iceland
Oman
Hong Kong
Singapore
Norway
Switzerland
Rwanda
Qatar

What a surprise - last week I visited Finland! And I did feel very safe! I also went to small towns outside Helsinki - picked some blueberries and enjoyed traditional finnish sauna. Sometimes we even left house door not locked when we left for some time. It is good to be in a safe country cause it is easier to enjoy and do not worry about extra things like how to save your personal things or so.
