RE: Sailing Is Not Just for Rich People

in #travel6 years ago

I'm with you on the survival ideas. I have always been nomadic and rarely have a lot of money or possessions. I prefer it this way, and when I get tied to down somewhere with a lot of "stuff," it is soon time to chuck most of it and move on.

I'm not much for getting onto boats though. As soon as I do - I want to get off. I like ferry boats that take me somewhere, but that is about it.

I have read all three of you book recommendations and loved all of them. You are right to say that if people can survive out lost in the ocean, the rest of us can surely do it on land :)

Yep :) You might appreciate my dad's comments on this blog :)
“You said it right: if people can survive for months without food and water in the ocean, then on land it’s surely easier.

It’s just that people don’t want to “survive.” They were taught to “consume.” To be “cool” :)

They were told a lot of fairy-tales: about god, about money, about fashion, about expensive hotels. And they were told that there are people who are cooler than them. And that you need to earn money, so that you can catch up to those cool people.

Nothing but fairy-tales, in other words.”

Enjoy the nomadic life and all the best! ;)
