Our Last Years Re-Cap

So we thought we would give a short write up of last years travels, and discuss what we like about them or dislike.

Doha Qatar

Doha was one of the cleanest, and organised cities we have ever seen. We felt safe, and the traffic was smooth. We always felt respected from the Airport to the hotels. Locals where normally in charge in the higher ranking positions, and international labour did the rest. We reccomend this location for various reasons, but being safe and family friendly would be the top reason. It is also easy to be a digital nomad there.

Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

KL as it is call by most expats is a little more caotic. Traffic is rough and jams are common. Hiwever the city train system is very good, and helps one get around. It's also a world class city with some amazing properties. It's come a long way, and there is allot of money pouring into the city. Foodie life culture is strong here, and the cost of food is low. Cost of living is also much lower than in western countries.

Penang Malaysia

Penang is considered a foodie paradise. It's culture is a mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and some British to make it a very interesting place to visit or live. Allot of westerners call Penang home along with the locals. Recently there has been a building boom, and Chinese from Hong Kong have also begun to take up residence. It's easy to enjoy Penang due to it's safety, and cultural heritage. The one thing we dislike about Penang is the massive traffic jams. They are at least twenty years behind on having a public train system, and it was being talked about back in 2003. With so many cultures you always have food open somewhere, and that great because they like thir holidays in Malaysia.

Jakarta Indonesia

We really love our time in the Jakarta area. The old world charm meets new world luxary was obvious and lesser expensive than we expected. The city has much to consider and being a digital nomad here is something to consider. Traffic, and air quality was our greatious concern here, and we did have to leave some areas of the city due to this issue. 5 star dining is exelant here, and very well worth you time, and of great quality at a lower cost. People are super friendly but not as safe as Qatar or Malaysia generally.

As you can see we had a busy year, and 2024 has been just as busy. Our video collection is extensive, and you can learn allot from us just by reading our blog at ExploreTraveler.com or our YouTube Channel ExploreTraveler.
