Schekino

in #travel5 years ago (edited)

Schekino is a village in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region. It is part of the Tregubovsky rural settlement. The distance by road to the regional center of Veliky Ustyug is 19 km, to the center of the municipality of Morozovitsa - 12 km.

The main attraction of Schekino is the dilapidated Church of the Transfiguration. Built in the style of classicism. The Schekino Transfiguration Church was built in 1794-1807. instead of two dilapidated wooden churches. Stone, two-story. Thrones in honor of: Transfiguration of the Lord - the main, Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin. Location: in 1755 - on Schekino, in the South third of Ustyug district; in 1859 - the village of state Schekino, in the 1st camp of the Ustyuzh district, under the Spassky key; now - the village of Schekino, Tregubovskoe s / n. In 1788, the church numbered 956 people, in 1868 - 1824.

Not far from the church is a shop. Also in Schekino there is a working kindergarten, a library, a first-aid post, a post office.

In the village there is a street with old unique houses. These are large five-walls wooden houses with a mezzanine and carved balconies with balusters.

The remains of the carving are still preserved, by which one can judge the former beauty.

There is no road beyond the last house in the village, although there used to be a trade route. To go further, you need to go around in a completely different place.

In winter and summer, from Schekino, beautiful views of the floodplain meadows open. Below is the river Shardenga. And the lights in the distance are the village of Karasovo, which is located far beyond the South River.

There are more villages nearby and I will tell you about them.
