Some years ago i travelled to Thailand and bumped into "The sanctuary of Truth"
A temple completely made of wood! From a distance it look big, but once inside i realised it i HUGE!
Students working here, are learning the craft of woodcarving and by paying an entrance fee as a tourist you helping paying for the education of the wood-workers.
To maximise the experience i waked arount the builing first, admiring the intricate woodcarvings.
the closer i got... the bigger it seemed
Al this was taken with a D3x without flash and a 17-55 2.8 AF-S lens.
Once inside, I sat down for over an hour enjoying the chants played by a cd player (less romantic) but the echo trough the building (oooohm) is great and calming.
You can see there are HOURS and HOURS of work in all this!
on my way back.....
That temple looks amazing, almost like something out of a fantasy movie. I wonder how long it took to build it.
I am not sure how long... but it has been there for years now!
Beautiful!! Such a fine arts! Really beautiful clicks.
yes! and... thank you :-)
Spooky but what craftmanship! All I can think about is Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)! 😄
Amazing! You can see the effort!
looking forward to more insights on your trip to Thailand
