What was meant to be a time out ended up in a crazy trip to Amsterdam! (I am back, lovely Steemians!)

Hello lovely friends! 😘

First of all: I am really sorry for being absent for such a long time and leave you waiting for a reply, sign or post! Thank you SO much for your patience, love, support and simply for being there! You are AMAZING 💖

Special thanks to my wonderful friends @happysmileyman, @frostyamber, @what-is-life and @lorner for your heart warming words! I appreciate that so much and you always know how to make me smile and my heart dance!

@happysmileyman: Thank you so much for simply everything! You inspire me so much and your words, love and wisdom accompanied me more than you think during the last weeks! I thought and meditated a LOT about the things you told and the love you gave me and it's obviously a plan of the divine that we met! I send you endless hugs! You can't imagine how happy and grateful I am that universe connected us in this beautiful way! You gave me some EXTREMELY precious and powerful inputs that caused a great transition and helped me so much in finding myself and my way that I am super grateful! You made me the best gift ever! :) 💖

What happened the last time?

Do you know that feeling? Deep down inside your heart you feel that there is a great transition going on in your soul. Just like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

The only thing you need is to withdraw from everyday life and just be, live and experience.

Over the last weeks (and after a LOT of meditation and personal growth) I heard this inner calling getting louder and louder. "Get out of your head and everyday life for a while and find yourself! Grow your wings and fly!"

The same time my husband Ronny spontaneously took a pretty long holiday to have a time out and so I had the time and space to let that magic happen as we got into this amazing holiday mode.

We were both happy to relax, spend time together and simply have a time out.

But it wouldn't be us if the adventurer inside us didn't whisper beautiful and crazy things into our minds, telling us to create unforgettable moments instead of just hanging around, especially as travelling is the best way for me to find myself, calm down and learn how to fly.

And the adventurer won...

We spontaneously decided to take our backpacks and a few things and fulfill one of our dreams:

Going on a several day tour with our bikes, only a minimalist luggage and somehow end up in Amsterdam!

We have never been in the Netherlands before and I have always wanted to visit this amazing city.

So we took our mountainbikes and hopped on a few trains from Rostock to Bremen where we arrived in the evening and started our adventure.

We were absolutely enthusiastic to ride to Amsterdam within a week and sleep in nature (which we did several times before but with other destinations).

But we didn't have one thing in our minds: When it gets late and dark, there is still a lot of humidity and therefore sometimes even freezing cold temperatures, as summer only had begun a few days ago and it wasn't nearly as warm as we expected it to be.

We learned this lesson after we arrived in Oldenburg in the middle of the night, exhausted, tired, hungry. The only thing we wanted was to sleep and so we took our coated picnic blanket and our travel blankets to cover us from the cold, wet air and tried to sleep in a park.

But despite wearing special outdoor clothes, we weren't really able to sleep as the cold and slightly foggy night air embraced us until we (especially me) started to shake and become a bit desperate. I needed to rest after riding my bike half of the night, but simply couldn't. I was hungry but didn't really have something to eat.

A short conversation later we agreed each other: It was too cold and far to ride our bikes the whole way to Amsterdam and sleep in nature!

After eating, desperately trying to find some sleep again and finding out how to end up in Amsterdam WITH our bikes (most trains/buses didn't allow to take bikes with you), we finally hopped on a bus to Amsterdam the next afternoon!

We wanted to arrive our destination, no matter what! And we did not want to do that tired, pissed off and ill due to the nightly temperatures.

So after spending a really bad and cold night and therefore a pretty despreate and exhausting day in Oldenburg (long, long story) you can surely imagine how GREAT it felt to sit in this warm, cozy bus and sleep until...

We finally arrived Amsterdam! 🌇 🚌

The feeling of leaving the bus and standing in the middle of this big and impressive city after all the things we have been through the hours before, was simply overwhelming!

Now we were sure: This was the beginning of a big adventure!

"I want a bed for the night and some damn good weed!"

It didn't take long until we found out how friendly, helpful and amazing people in Amsterdam are!

After having no clue at all where to find the city center and a hostel to stay the night and not knowing the city at all, we were forced to ask locals for help. (Thank god my English isn't too bad!)

BEST.IDEA.EVER!

Everyone, yes really everyone we talked to was so nice and did anything possible to help us having the time of our life!

A wonderful lady even borrowed us her laptop so we could search for a hostel and to explain us where we are and how to arrive the center of Amsterdam. If you coincidentally read this post: Thank you SO much again! You are an angel!

After all the things we had experienced, seen, felt and done the last hours and days , I was like: "I want a bed for the night and some damn good weed!"

Even if it took until the late evening until we found a hostel that spontaneously had some beds to offer for the night, we found the heart of this magical city very soon, thanks to the lovely locals.

And when I strolled along the beautiful, small streets, saw all the breathtaking architecture, bridges, canals and parks and felt the heartbeat of this vivid, wonderful and very special place, I was speechless!

Really guys: I always thought Amsterdam would be nice, but I have never expected it to be SO, SO overwhelmingly beautiful in any way!

The next days showed it to us: The city, the people, the different coffeeshops, the lifestyle, the food - Amsterdam is what I consider paradise!

So we sat down next to a canal, enjoyed the vibes, watched all the boats, realized what a magical trip we had just begun and of course, after being in my first coffeshop a few minutes before - I smoked my first Amsterdam joint made of really good Dutch weed!

I am a passionate Psychonaut and in Amsterdam you can order different weed strains like others order a burger. Most coffeeshops even wrote down if it's an indica or sativa plant, how much THC it contains and how the effects are. Do you need something for the day, to be energized, full of motivation, inspired and creative? Or do you want something for the night to relax, enjoy the sunset and kill the stress of the day?

My green heart was happily overwhelmed by this crazy, beautiful and inspiring city and so I started the first day of our adventure with a beautiful and tasty joint! 💚

But this shouldn't be my last one, as you surely can imagine. I tried many, many different strains. From Amnesia, Purple Haze, White Widdow, OG Kush and AK 47 to Cheese, Super Silver Haze, Pineapple and more...

LOTS more! 😃😃😃

But as it would be an endless post if I would write down every single detail and I don't want to annoy you guys, I write down my HIGHlight moments (yeah, yeah I know... that was a lame joke😄):

  • I almost got my bike stolen while standing right next to it and eating a yummy space brownie
  • A short while later I actually got my bicycle lamps stolen...LOL!
  • I tried to book a hostel bed for the night when suddenly the brownie started to hit...But what was even more funny: The dude serving us seemed to be as high as I was and simply smiled at us with his red eyes and his knowing look like: "Haha dude, I know how you feel!"
  • We took a nighly walk through the Red Light District and I was totally blown (no bad joke this time) away that the ladies there stand behind big windows just like mannequins in a store
  • One day we discovered a park where rabbits run around. We came there everyday and watched an elder lady feed them. Totally felt like Alice in Wonderland somehow :D
  • In another park we had a wonderful picnic when my husband said: "A snack or candy truck would be amazing!" - And a short while later an ice cream truck appeared! Wohoo!
  • Dutch fries are so darn good that we ate them almost everyday. The guy selling them even started being amused when he saw us heading to his shop
  • I bought some magic truffles in a smart shop (they are legal in Amsterdam) and asked the guy who served me how much I should take. He answered I should take the whole package (15 g) but the Internet, which I gladly asked before tripping, said that would be a rough ride. So I only took about 10 g - and tripped the f*** out in Amsterdam :D
The whole sky looked like a giant colourful rainbow-cloud-mandala and the colours of everything were changing. Trees had faces and danced. My mind trip was really heavy and all the impressions were very, very intense. I was glad I was an experienced Psychonaut. So we started discovering Amsterdam which was super weird, funny, creepy, magical, overwhelming and more. And when I sat down next to the river, slowly landing from my flight, I thought: "What must have 15 gramms felt like? Holy shroom..."
  • The night after this trip we slept in the park where I started my trip and when we woke up the next morning, we saw rabbits, swans, a crane and lots of other animals around us (And yes, they were real guys ;D )
  • The architecture in the city center looked a bit like Diagon Alley in Harry Potter, another district made you feel like you're in an American metropolis!
  • There are COUNTLESS coffeeshops, headshops, smartshops and other stores that sell things that have to do with weed. It's like there is all about this plant in Amsterdam
  • I didn't only smoke the ganja. I also ate it! Brownies, ice cream, waffles...And it was sooo good!
  • One coffeeshop, called Abraxas, looked a bit like a magical bar from Harry Potter
  • I had my first Moonrock ever - and it was FANTASTIC! (A weed bud covered in weed oil and pollen)
  • There is water and bridges everywhere and you find a magical and beautiful spot to have a romantic time everywhere. Especially by night when the lights are on!
  • One of the hostels we stayed in (The Flying Pig Downtown, which I can HIGHLY recommend ;) ) has its own smoking room where you can meet people from around the world and have a spfliff together. There is also a room with a TV and a Playstation and DVD's! We just loved it there! People, staff and the atmosphere are awesome! And we met so many cool people!
  • I had many bags of weed and hash lying in front of me on my picnic blanket and prepared to roll a joint when the police came along to check the security of the park. They looked at us and simply kept on driving happily. No stress, nothing at all! In Germany this would NEVER be possible and I felt a bit like in a dream LOL!
  • Everything we ate in Amsterdam was SUPER yummy! Dutch people really know how to make amazing food! And I swear... this was not only because I was high like all the time and the munchies hit! :D
  • They have an own traffic system with streets and traffic lights for bikes, as there are more bikes than people in Amsterdam. Their driving style is pure madness but somehow nothing happens (at least we didn't see anything like an accident) and everyone seems to have a hell lot of fun
  • There were some big super market chains that sold the best, freshest, ripest fruits that we had ate in a long, long time!

These were only a few highlights of our trip. It was an amazing time that we will never ever forget! I hope you guys enjoyed my travel experience and come back post🙂

If there's anything you want to know, ask me. If one of my highlights amused you and you would love to hear more about it, just tell me and I can write a further post on it!🙂

Thank you so much for your comment, it really made my day LOL!

All the best to you :D

Glad you liked The Netherlands, are summers are a nightmare one day its to hot, the next you walk around in a winter jacket😂and the bikes/ bike lamps getting stolen is a nightmare to, 3 stolen bikes last year😂, they say we dutch are very direct? Often it offends people, but we don't realize it. Did you experience this?

Hahahahaha that sounds very familiar to me :D I am living at the coast of the Baltic Sea and the weather and temperature have more moodswings than a teenager in puberty :D One day you can go and swim in the ocean, the next day you need you warmest clothes...like: WTF?! :D

Oh nooooo, I am so sorry to read that you got 3 bikes stolen!! Holy sh... :( That sucks, for sure!!!
But it's so cool you're still able to laugh about it :D

Wow, interesting to hear about people being offended by the direct personality of Dutch people. I didn't experience anything offending, in contrary. When I came back to Germany I was like: "I want to go back to the Netherlands!! People there are SOOO much friendlier, happier and so much more sympathic!"

But I have to add: I prefer honest and direct people to the ones who are only people pleaser and don't tell the truth just to not offend someone :D

Thank you very much for reading and your amazing comment!!

A very big hello and much love to you and your beautiful country! :)
