We are still walking along Carmona Zalor Beach towards the Panchayat village, the intersection will soon come into view, but for now we are enjoying the views of Indian villas. Now it’s about 17 o’clock, it’s not so hot anymore, walking is relatively comfortable, although it’s a little stuffy, there’s no pleasant breeze from the Arabian Sea, and the asphalt is blazing hot. In some places there are condominiums with pharmacies and shops on the ground floor. Apartments for rent, judging by the appearance, the property is still new and not fully landscaped.

But this is absolutely great! Pink and blueberry villa with deer against the background of trees and Christian symbols! I understand that Goa has its own long Portuguese history and there are many Christian temples and people professing Christianity. By the way, there are also a lot of Muslims here, but they somehow get along peacefully. And yet, for me, deer are more of a northern Lapland theme. Christmas, Rudolph the Reindeer and all that.

And in India it’s somehow too hot for deer! But, nevertheless, in India there are several species of deer; they live here quite comfortably. It turns out that in different religions the deer is not just some stupid animal with antlers, it is a powerful symbol! Since ancient times, the deer has been associated with the Tree of Life, thanks to its branched antlers. The deer sheds its antlers and renews them, which is why the deer is also a symbol of development and rebirth. In Christian symbolism, the deer reflects piety, nobility, beauty and purity of the soul striving for Christ. It is believed that deer cannot tolerate snakes and fights them. The snake is clearly evil in its purest form. Therefore, the deer is a symbol of Christ and purity, a fighter against the Devil in the form of a snake. It is not for nothing that at one time the deer was the favorite emblem of the English and French royal courts. The world is ruled by deer and symbols!

A little further down the road you can see a small Catholic chapel. The chapel is very tiny, it will be crowded for two people; there are many similar temples in India. It must be said that Hindu temples in small settlements are most often just as small. In the big cities of Goa there are large temples, but in the villages the temples are small, for local use. Although much here depends on the historical context. Let's say in the small village of Agonda, not so far from here, there is a large Catholic Church of St. Anne with a church school. There are also two chapels there!

There was a lock on the door, but, in principle, everything was visible through the metal bars. A micro-chapel with plastic chairs, which are taken out during services on Sundays and placed on the platform in front of the chapel. Very unusual! But India has its own special local flavor in everything! This bright exoticism is why we come here! Uh...what about the warm sea?

Ich verstehe, dass Goa eine eigene lange portugiesische Geschichte hat und es viele christliche Tempel und Menschen gibt, die sich zum Christentum bekennen. Übrigens gibt es hier auch viele Muslime, die aber irgendwie friedlich miteinander auskommen. Und doch sind Hirsche für mich eher ein Thema im Norden Lapplands. Weihnachten, Rudolph das Rentier und so.

Und in Indien ist es irgendwie zu heiß für Rehe! Dennoch gibt es in Indien mehrere Hirscharten; sie leben hier recht bequem. Es stellt sich heraus, dass der Hirsch in verschiedenen Religionen nicht nur ein dummes Tier mit Geweih ist, sondern ein starkes Symbol! Seit der Antike wird der Hirsch aufgrund seines verzweigten Geweihs mit dem Baum des Lebens in Verbindung gebracht. Der Hirsch wirft sein Geweih ab und erneuert es, weshalb der Hirsch auch ein Symbol für Entwicklung und Wiedergeburt ist. In der christlichen Symbolik spiegelt der Hirsch Frömmigkeit, Adel, Schönheit und Reinheit der nach Christus strebenden Seele wider. Es wird angenommen, dass Hirsche Schlangen nicht vertragen und sie bekämpfen. Die Schlange ist eindeutig in ihrer reinsten Form böse. Daher ist der Hirsch ein Symbol für Christus und Reinheit, ein Kämpfer gegen den Teufel in Form einer Schlange. Nicht umsonst war der Hirsch einst das beliebteste Emblem der englischen und französischen Königshöfe. Die Welt wird von Hirschen und Symbolen regiert!

Etwas weiter die Straße hinunter können Sie eine kleine katholische Kapelle sehen. Die Kapelle ist sehr klein, sie ist für zwei Personen überfüllt; es gibt viele ähnliche Tempel in Indien. Man muss sagen, dass Hindu-Tempel in kleinen Siedlungen meist genauso klein sind. In den großen Städten Goas gibt es große Tempel, aber in den Dörfern sind die Tempel klein und für den lokalen Gebrauch bestimmt. Allerdings hängt hier vieles vom historischen Kontext ab. Nehmen wir an, in dem kleinen Dorf Agonda, nicht weit von hier, gibt es eine große katholische St.-Anna-Kirche mit einer Kirchenschule. Dort gibt es auch zwei Kapellen!

An der Tür gab es ein Schloss, aber im Prinzip war durch die Metallstangen alles sichtbar. Eine Mikrokapelle mit Plastikstühlen, die sonntags während des Gottesdienstes herausgeholt und auf der Plattform vor der Kapelle aufgestellt werden. Sehr ungewöhnlich! Aber Indien hat in allem seinen eigenen besonderen lokalen Geschmack! Diese strahlende Exotik ist der Grund, warum wir hierher kommen! Äh ... was ist mit dem warmen Meer?
