I always find myself saying yes to an invite especially if it is trip to nature. Almost five years already when I first visit Calaguas Island and this year is my 4th times yet it gives me different feeling and adventure everytime I visit this Island. I really love beach waves and sound of the sea, it gives me a certain feeling being renewed.
The Calaguas Islands are located in the Municipality of Vinzons, in the Province of Camarines Norte. It is known for its pristine beaches—the most popular among these is the Mahabang Buhangin beach, which is made up of a long stretch of powdery white sand.
Calaguas Island was once a hidden paradise known to only a few and the bravest of travelers. It is a backpackers’ haven and a mountaineers’ refuge. I was probably still naive and young when I first heard about it in 2009 coupled with rumors of how ethereal was its beauty. What caught my attention, even more, is that many people prefer this island over the more popular Boracay. I couldn’t help but ask why. It haunted me for several years until January of this year, I finally got my answer.
