When we hear the place called Oklahoma, one thing that comes to our mind is Oklahoma City or the State itself outside of the Philippines. Never did I know back then that there is this wonderful place called Oklahoma Beach located in Baliangao, Misamis Occidental. The place itself is just merely a province away from my own residence.
Although the place isn’t isolated, don’t let this fool you. Getting to the island is already an adventure packed thing to do. You can experience walking in this 5-10 meters bridge to a cottage, and in that cottage is where this popularly known as "sakayan" will fetch you. The island is 15-20 mins away from that cottage. After 15-20 mins ride you can witness the beautiful resort, the OKLAHOMA ISLAND RAFI'S RESORT.
In this resort there are so many views where you can pose to have pictures with, you can witness the beauty of the white sand, a plenty of star fish with you, the clear water, the beautiful sunset smiling right at you.
You are also allowed to have night swimming and it’s very safe since the water is constantly at the same level, also they have this famous thing to do for every Filipino getaway and family bonding, a videoke. They also have affordable rooms for a night where you can relax and feel the fresh air while listening to the sound of waves.
Indeed this resort made me happy so much, almost 5 hours of travel from my hometown, but everything is all worth it. Especially that I am with my family.
