I'm staying in one of the many wildlife conservancies that border the Maasai Mara national reserve in Kenya. For the next couple weeks I'm going to try and post each evening from The Naboisho Conservancy.

The national reserves that make up the Maasai Mara are completely protected with a managed solution which attempts to mitigate the impact that humans have on the animals in this area. There are no homes, agriculture or farming within the reserves.

As humans encroach on the land the wildlife is losing out and the large areas left for animals to live on are reduced. It's somewhat of a compromise - but this protected park is the alternative to fences.

We are seriously remote here and living in the middle of the bush - staying in a one man tent is absolutely unbelievable. Every single night you hear the animals coming right through the camp and you can literally hear lions making a Wildebeest kill outside the tent some nights.

At night I lay inside my tent in absolute silence listening to the sounds of the bush. I know these incredible moments will memories that I hold onto and think back on once I'm back in civilisation.

It's time to get some sleep - please check back tomorrow as we go on our first bush drive through the conservancy.

Awesome! And you did some very close shots from the lion , he doesnt seem to be hungry though :)

Oh wow! What an awesome experience! This is how wildlife should be observed. In the wild!! Try not the get eaten by a lion! 😂

Great post I absolutely love wildlife and nature,I've watched lots of documentaries about Africa and would love to do what you're doing and actually go there one day. It sounds amazing but also scary being able to listen to all the animals at night time from inside the tent.

Wow, this is really beautiful. What a trip! But isn't it scary sleeping in a tent? Well it's so fragile and you are outside...and a lot of animals walk around....

Beautiful!

I was there about 6 years ago doing some hunting.

The local tribesmen (The Maasai) were not happy with our tent locations. So in the middle of the night the creeped into to camp, and while we were asleep, cut our tents up while we slept.

....Good times.

We ended up finding them a couple of days later and made it a point to purchase many items from them.

looks awesome. followed and upvoted
