Fake money - do not change money with strangers in the streets of Prague

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello fellow steemians,

Before you make a trip to Prague think twice about how are you going to spend your money purchasing souvenirs or food and drinks in the restaurants. The last thing you want to do is to change money with the strangers in the streets. Like in every big city in the world there are scammers in Prague that will try to cheat you. In this case by giving you Belarusan rubbles that are similar to Czech Crowns but far less in the value. Also be careful when changing money in the exchanges as some of them will charge insane fees. The best and safest way is to use your CC. Please watch another of Janek's episodes on YouTube where he will show you what is going to happen to you when you change money in the streets. This guy is a hero!

It's a bad idea in most countries to exchange money in the street.

Absolutely... too bad though that not everyone agrees....

Well, the ones who get burned are not going to do it anymore. Usually, it is greed, which leads to trouble. Sounds there is a lot of greed going around with people on the street cheating and exchange places charging too much.

thanks for updating all the time :)
