This was a sunset over the Pacific Ocean from two weeks ago. After a day of meetings I was close to the beach, so I decided to drive to Manhattan Beach to watch the sunset and take some photos. For those not familiar with Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach is just south of Santa Monica Beach and is a popular place for volleyball and surfing. It was definitely a nice way to end a long day of work.
Looks like a great way of ending the day!
I need to live by a beach so I can go there after a long day. I don't even have a tub that is big enough to relax in. Awesome shot. I love the colors.
Cayo Jutías is a mangrove-covered key situated at the west coast of Cuba. I took a bus from Viñales and had a relaxing afternoon at this wild, remote and tranquil beach. There was only a small hut selling drinks, and a few people swimming, kayaking or strolling here. I found these dead branches pretty fascinating against the turquoise water and blue sky.
Not just the dead branches but the whole scene looks fascinating. I wish I knew about this place when I was in Vinales. Another reason to come back :) Awesome photo Donica!
Thanks Petr! I was actually thinking of your post about Viñales when writing the description yesterday. :) Some call this wild place “the most discovered undiscovered beach in Cuba”, haha...I will do a post about it soon!
What a beautiful picture. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us.
If you happen to go to Bali, I strongly recommend to visit the west part of the island which still not too touristy. You can find awesome spot like this boat beached on the reef that is today used as a temple on Medewi's beach.
Location: Bali, Indonesia.
Wow, what an entry. That image is just out of this world.
Thanks a lot! It goes straight to my heart :)
This is awesome. I am with @fjorenca, I have never seen a boat temple either. Great shot.
Well Medewi isn't the most visited part of Bali, this might be the reason why there isn't a lot of photos ignore this boat out! Thank you for the the compliment :)
Super cool photo, I have not seen this boat-temple before!
Thanks a lot ;)
The boat is located near Medewi beach which is a great surf spot by the way.
Sea is the most beautiful gift given by Allah SWT to man to meet all his needs. Aceh seaport holds a million charms of its beauty both the beauty of the underwater nature, the beauty of the beach that stretches as far as the eye view and the catch of fishermen are abundant and have high exportir quality so that Aceh has always been a world tourist destination.
So many beautiful colors in one single image. The theme is superb too.
Around Maratua, you can discover many islands for diving. Sangalaki Island is one of these places where you can find Manta rays but also many of these stingray. This ray specie is normally less colourfull. I was lucky to meet one with so much colours.
Looks like an alien:)... So many amazing creatures in our oceans. You are very privileged to see those first hand.
When I see the sun set out a very beautiful light in the sky can make the spirit to hunt the sunset every afternoon. One plant that grows above the sea border embankment can live on the sidelines of life stone is very fresh even though surrounded by boulders. The beautiful sky gives off beautifully shining light despite being blocked by clouds. I am very excited to participate in this contest. This photo I took in the village of Lampulo Banda Aceh.
Regards @czechglobalhosts
You have done so well with this shot!
Thanks @czechglobalhosts has praised my photo of this
but there are less for me because I always use the smart phone camera because there is no high quality camera please understand about my photo.
We spent one of the days in Algarve, Portugal on a beautiful beach Praia do Amado. While my kids and wife were playing with their new friends and my wife were talking with all these people we had met there. I took a walk along the picturesque coastline. I was already getting back when the light started to become magical. And the reflections on the wet sand completed the beauty.

What a beautiful light :)
WOW! Amazing colors.
Hmm, so peaceful... Fantastic image!
Railay Beach, Thailand, with its limestone cliffs and artistic sunsets. When the conditions are right, you can swim in this very beach with the bio-luminescent plankton, the small creatures that give you a slightly tingling sensation all over your body. At night, you just lie in the water, splashing it and you will see it just glow and sparkle, like in a dream.
Thank you so much for submitting this beautiful image. That sky looks stunning.
Near the Antarctica you can see these amazing mountains of ice floating in the see. In rare occasions, like here, the part below the water beautifully highlights the stunning blue of the cold water.
What a great experience this must be. One day:)....
The aquatory of Klaipeda port at winter time. Cold but somehow still colourful sunset, almost at blue hour. Shot with fish-eye lens to get those round pieces of ice much closer, so they look really huuge
Enjoy it!

Strangely despite the ice, it still looks warm and lovely!
Great shot .
Man the colours are just unbelievable!
This is as always such a great photo from you.
That looks very mysterious. Great shot as always.
Sunrise on the Pacific Coast
Here's a view of the Pacific Ocean from near the lighthouse at Point Reyes National Seashore in northern California. I took this photo almost exactly a year ago on the 30th of April. The wind this morning was strong and surprisingly chilly. Except for the few park staff that live on the point, I was the only person out here this morning. The colors were phenomenal, and the entire experience memorable.
Splendid! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas
Basalt Cliffs formed by lava and water
Just with the presence of water, this beautiful basalt columns will form hot lava. During the process of cooling down vertical crack appear and form the lava. Wonderful to see what nature is capable of. These are the basalt cliffs of Hofsos in Iceland.
Manta Rays at Komodo National Park in Indonesia. The dive site was "Mauan", also called "Manta Island" because of the high manta sightings. Komodo is one of the few places on earth, where mantas can be seen all year round, with the best chances between December and April.
I was looking for some new sea photos and ended up with this photo from New Zealand :) I captured this impressive arch surrounded by the Tasman Sea on the northern tip of the South Island near Wharariki Beach.
I can't wait until I grow up and can go to all the cool spots like you and get awesome photos like this.
Lhoknga Beach (Aceh) indonesia, is one of the beach that is very interested by foreign tourists who want to enjoy the holidays.
The charm of Lhoknga beach has long waves and large, so it is said sugra for the surfers. No wonder every year many sailing boats stop at this Lhoknga beach. This is the moment I created at the end of 2017.
Ampun kakaaaaak.
Luaaaar biasa.
This is a popular stone arch at the Southern Coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. We stopped by there after a monster hike we did the day earlier. Got lost and hiked for 14 hours. Good thing the summer days in Iceland stay bright long :)
Looks like a petrified troll!
The North Sea, The Netherlands. Just a nice evening walk through the dunes to the sea. A beautiful sunset without any clouds. Spring is in the air. What a nice reward after a hard day work.
World-class tourist destination.
Peak geurutee is one of the best places of destinations in aceh jaya, even though there has been a natural disaster that struck Aceh aceh beauty does not fade. This Kluang island of that adorn the high seas has an extraordinary natural charm.
Warm Regards @czechglobalhosts
Aceh is located at the westernmost tip of Sumatra island.
Aceh ... also areas that have a very beautiful natural charm.
Besides nature, Culinary in Aceh is also very tasty and delicious.
guaranteed to make anyone addicted when trying it.
Like this one tourist attraction "Kuala Cut Beach".
Who does not know this one beach, especially for the water sports enthusiasts "Surfing", of course this one tourist attraction to be their main destination, be it local and foreign tourists.
Why, because the waves on this beach is very world class.
And here, the sunset, became an object that is always presented for the visitors.

the fishermen Gp. Java City Banda Aceh, Aceh Indonesia. who had just returned from the ocean. they fish for sale for their family's needs. for the sake of his son's education. the weather is bright at dusk, may the results of the fishermen is also as bright as this nature.
It is time for white sand beach, crystal clear water, shadow offered by palm trees and so on… I know one destination which offers all of this…
SEYCHELLES! Truly an amazing paradise in Indian Ocean. I hope photo below will inspire you to visit those gorgeous islands, if you have possibility.
Please click on the image to enlarge
It reminded me of a beach named monkey beach located in Ko Phi-Phi, it is a tiny beach with palm trees. on which you can snorkel in the coral.
very inspiring. It makes me wonder how is it that I'm right in Paris and not over there :)
The Caribbean Sea is a tropical paradise that is part of the great Atlantic Ocean, nothing more relaxing than spending an afternoon with these sunsets, how lucky I am to live on an island. If you want to see these sunsets do not forget to visit the island of Margarita, Venezuela.
This is the Pacific Ocean. I happened to see a surfers contest long time ago. We went there with my husband for our vacation and to see our friends.
It was my first time when I saw the ocean. The waves were really strong, and it was hard to sweem but I was still pretty happy to even just touch that water.
Hi Tomas,
I have a question for you: I would like to submit pictures from my last year's trip to Hawaii to one of yours 7 World's Continents Challenges but I am not quite sure where would it belong. Obviously, Hawaii is part of the USA but geographically, it is rather unclear. I tried to google it but there doesn't seem to be a clear answer - see e.g. here:
At the end, this is your call so what would you prefer - North America or World's Oceans?
@libork, you could even double dip and enter some of the pictures in today's contest if the ocean is in them since Tuesdays are Antarctica and World's Oceans. I hope this helps as well.
North America for me:).... Thanks for asking.
Smart thing to do:)
OK, thanks for the answers :)
Will try on Friday and perhaps also next week in the World Oceans.
This shot was taken on a beautiful day at the Cudgen Headland in Kingscliff. Nice and sunny day, blue sky and turquoise water. Australia always amaze me with its beautiful colors and powerful contrasts.
wow that first picture of polar bears. Its amazing I love little polar bear babies but even though they are adults still the one you caught that shot is worth praising. There arn't many candidates from Antarctica because of its very less population. But sill I am waiting to see some really cool and breath taking shots of Antarctica.
End of the Road Ocean photography 2! Snow on the coast!
Snow on the coast at the southern end of South America. Getting up in the drone is the best way to see it all. I personally love seeing snow next to the waves. You can see by the end of the road signs, that it all ends here! Enjoy the view!
