Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD!
Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of South America.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel is one of Singapores landmarks. Unfortunately it's allowed only for hotel guests to relax at the infinity pool on the top. Nevertheless it's possible for everyone to buy a ticket for the "Skypark" that is located right next to the pool. So you can enjoy the same breathtaking view of Singapores skyline from there!

The island of Tenerife is a great place to shoot seascape photography because it lies in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. So the only thing that can block your pictures are just clouds. That's one of the reasons why I come back every year, and every time I bring pictures like this one.

This is a photo from my trip to Costa Rica in May 2014 to celebrate a friend's birthday. We stayed at Villas Hermosas, a small villa on the west coast in Puntarenas. The hosts were beyond incredible and made the weekend even better. This specific photo was taken during an ATV ride through the jungle to a secluded beach where we had an incredible lunch at a local restaurant. Not surprisingly from the clouds in the photo, there was also a downpour of rain briefly that felt wonderful in the hot, humid weather.
My first entry for the South American Contest!
I finally got my pictures from our visit to Argentina about 13 years ago. We went around Salta in the western Andes region, what an impressive landscape. And yes, really colorful!!

25 years ago, Medellín of Colombia was dubbed as "the most dangerous city on earth"("Narcos" anyone?). I visited this impressive eternal-spring city and its Comuna 13(in my photo), which used to be the most violent neighborhood in Medellín. This notorious area tucked away in rolling mountains managed to reinvent itself from the drug and gang wars. Now it's known for the colorful houses adorned with graffiti.

Thanks Wes =). I went with another traveler I met earlier, and he was nervous walking around there, saying we could be shot any time. But I found the locals pretty friendly and busy in living, I didn't see any reason they would hurt us. Maybe I was too positive but luckily nothing bad happened.

The best sunsets in Venezuela can be seen in the bay of Juan Griego, which is on Margarita Island. This is a town dedicated to fishing, that's why there will always be boats on its banks; The colors that gives us the sunsets of this place are wonderful and charming for everyone. It is a very relaxing place for anyone who visits it.
Wow, this is such a beautiful array of colors. The photos of Margarita Island I've seen in this contest made me really want to visit it. :)
I hope you can go to that beautiful island to visit it, it is one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.

Stars over Chile with the town of Vicuña causing nice light pollution in the valley below. Vicuña, in the Elqui Valley is a great place for stargazing because it has over 300 clear nights a year. Not only is Vicuña a great place to visit in Chile but it also happens to be the name of one my four favorite South American Camelid species.
This is a cool capture! "Nice light pollution", haha... Vicuña is indeed the most elegant camelid there. I was in Elqui Valley too and had a similar star picture as yours. :) Did you also try horse riding and visiting the pisco distillery?
Thanks! I didn't go horseback riding but I rented a mountain bike and visited some of the distilleries. Although in retrospect biking and pisco probably aren't the best two activities to combine.

Mount Fitz Roy, Argentina. When I've spent 6 days in the woods looking at this landscape I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I felt obsessed by the complexity of those granite peaks to a point where I've started thinking I could simply keep on going up and up until I touched the snow. And I did. Halfway through I came back to reality and went down to the touristic area. What a great place!

Machu Picchu (Old Mountain) is the contemporary name given to an ancient Andean town in Peru, on the rocky promontory that joins the Machu Picchu, Putucusi and Huayna Picchu mountains on the eastern slope of the Central Cordillera, in southern Peru. Machu Picchu is considered a masterpiece of architecture and engineering, its peculiar architectural and landscape features, and the veil of mystery that has woven around much of the literature published on the site, have made it one of the most popular tourist destinations on the planet.
And we also find a llama that is the native animal and characteristic of these places, these are very cared for by all citizens

I stayed for 3 days in a beautiful hostel with an excellent view on the Cotopaxi. The only problem: clouds. In the end this was the clearest shot I could get, but still, it was an incredible feeling to see this humungous beauty of the nature.

A simple Life
This photo is of a small homestead in the Aysen region of Chile, Patagonia. A view like this is not uncommon along the dirt roads of southern Chile. Often there are a few sheep grazing nearby, and a handful of chickens scratching in the grass next to the cabins. This home was located many kilometers outside of the city along a lonely dirt road in the campo [countryside]. The photo itself is not all that remarkable, but the lifestyle that it portrays is one of grit and perseverance.

This shot is from San Felipe Neri Monastery in Sucre. The capital of Bolivia has some really beautiful colonial architecture. Historically, the rich architecture of the "white city" was financed by the silver mines in nearby Potosi.

This is the Valley near El Chaltén in the Nationalparks Los Glaciares in Argentina. A wonderful and wide Landscape, enriched by this gorgeous blue river, that presets itself in a perfect color contrast to the many shades of green.
Amazing shot! Such a beautiful color palette. El Chaltén area is definitely one of the most gorgeous places I've been to.
A small view of the San Carlos de Borromeo castle located in the Pampatar bay on the island of Margarita. Its construction was started in 1622 and finished 20 years later, has been the site of numerous battles where it has been destroyed and rebuilt many times, nowadays it lends itself to visits of tourists and important events, leaving behind its epic days battles.
An unplanned bus swap in the small town of Copacabana, right on Lake Titicaca. Turns out it was a festival day, and our next bus got caught up in a long parade, so we got to wander, happily admiring the hard-work and pride the locals put into such a festival.
El Calafate is a city in Patagonia, Argentina. It is situated on the southern border of Lake Argentino, in the southwest part of the Santa Cruz Province, about 320 km Northwest of Río Gallegos. El Calafate is an important tourist destination as the hub to visit different parts of the Los Glaciares National Park, including the Perito Moreno Glacier.
My picture today was taken in from the "Fortín de la Galera" in Juan Griego - Venezuela. It was built in the year 1811, it is famous for the privileged view of the sunset that takes place there. The fort is accessed by a stone staircase, and in the upper part there is a platform where four cannons lined with walls are kept.
Punta del Este in Uruguay is one of the most famous and exclusive beach cities in the Southern Atlantic of the Americas. In this black and white photo you can see the skyline of constructions in this city. It is located where the Río de la Plata meets the Atlantic Ocean.
The Primate Cathedral of Colombia is a Catholic church consecrated to the Immaculate Conception. This temple was built between 1807 and 1823 in the Plaza Bolívar in Bogotá, the same place where previously three other temples were built, which successively served as cathedrals for the city. Today it is visited daily by thousands of tourists for its historical significance, architectural and cultural value, which made it receive the mention of National Monument by the Colombian authorities.
Morrocoy National Park, Venezuela
Morrocoy National Park is one of the most outstanding tourist attractions in the country when it comes to beaches, due to the fact that it offers us some the most extraordinary tropical landscapes of the Venezuelan territory.It is based on a group of islets, called "cayos", with white sand and relaxing crystalline waters that at the same time are the refuge of a diversity of oviparous species and coral reefs. Definitely Morrocoy National Park showed me that sometimes venezuelans are so focused on problems, that we ignore all the good that our country have to offer. It's just matter of perspective.
The church of San José is a simple building whose construction dates back to 1671. It's located in the Old Town of Panama City and is famous for its baroque altar carved in mahogany and covered in gold leaf. I admit that when I had the opportunity to go, I still didn't know about the existence of this temple, but when I found it, I was not very impressed, it was like any other church; Due to the fact that I was very tired, I doubted if I should keep on touring or go to the hotel, but my family encouraged me and we went to see the temple. I don't regret at all, the altar is a marvel that made me feel it was worth staying and not going to the hotel; I think this is the best example of "don't judge a book by its cover".
Today I show you a photograph of the beautiful "Bahía de Pampatar" that I was able to capture from the castle "San Carlos de Borromeo". This bay is one of the most valued places of the "Isla de Margarita" and of Venezuela due to its antiquity and history.
My picture today was taken in the city "Puerto La Cruz" when getting off the ferry. This city is one of the biggest tourist attractions of Venezuela. In their channels, elegant urbanizations have been established, with their own jetties, where people can use boats and yachts as a means of transport.
I appreciate all photographers work because these pictures are due to hardworking of that photographers there is no picture best Think these all are best @czechglobalhosts
