7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #27 – winner announcement!
@justdentist Asian Sunday entry:
Cormorant Fisherman in China. Here is one of my favorite photos from our trip to China last year. I also featured it in my "Faces of China" post. If you take part in Tomas, aka @czechglobalhosts, contest for a longer period of time, you'll might have seen some photos of the fisherman. After being a fisherman for several decades he now mainly works in the tourist industry as a model. I guess it's kind of a win-win-situation for him and tourists like us. He's wearing his traditional outfit. Once in a lifetime experience! Have a great week everybody.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #27 – winner announcement!
@bluebottlefilms Australian Monday entry:
This photo is from Rottnest Island in Western Australia. The island is commonly called "Rotto" in Australia, we tend to abbreviate everything over here. It's a beautiful island that is protected and famous for it's healthy population of quokkas.

@narchuk Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:
Sunset in the sea can have another meaning. When not only the sun but you yourself plunges into the water. The sky on the surface explodes with bright clouds. And the underwater world is completely transformed. The daily inhabitants hide and fall asleep. They are replaced by nocturnal creatures. All this process is not long at all. Less than an hour is required for nature to completely change over to another state. If I succeed, I always try to spend this time in or near water. Especially if it's as nice and warm as the Philippines. Of all the places where I was, there are some of the most beautiful sunsets.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – European Thursday week #27 – winner announcement!
@ansharphoto European Thursday entry:
Rovinj, Croatia. Visitors to Rovinj are often struck by its resemblance to Venice, its neighbor almost directly across the Adriatic Sea. The only thing that seems to distinguish “Little Venice” from its namesake is the absence of canals and busloads of tourists.

Generally I like to give information about the photos I post, but I'll be honest I can't find anything about this one! If anyone knows I'd love to hear about this statue. I took this photo a few years ago when I visited Rio de Janeiro. I love this statue on the rocks in the middle of the lagoa, but I can't find any information on it and don't remember from what I was told when I was there. I only wish I had a better camera for this!
View of the Punta Uva beach outside Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, close to the border with Panama. The area is famous for beautiful tropical landscape, lush vegetation, calm water and spectacular coral reefs. Altough is it a quite popular spot, there were just a few people when I visited it in September last year.
Thank you so much for your wonderful entry!
Since we are in Easter, I share this photo of a view of Caracas (Venezuela). The main religion of the country is Christianity. For the Venezuelan people now days there are very difficult times indeed. I hope that the situation of the country will improve.
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! Thank you for your entry!
I reached the Bolivian town Copacabana on Lake Titicaca after travelling overland from Peru. This is the view I got at sunset when I climbed up a dirt path to the summit of Cerro Calvario(Calvary Hill). Breathtaking, isn't it? Literally true too when it's at an elevation of about 4000 metres. The Stations of the Cross on this hill is often visited by pilgrims for prayer and penance.
Beautiful image! Thank you so much for that!
I just love how orange everything is in your image!
Los Roques contains endless opportunities to get to know a small part of our beautiful Venezuela. Los Roques is not affected by the stationary change. In general, it has a good climate and stable temperatures throughout the year for the enjoyment of beaches without the risk of tropical storms or hurricanes. This image was from another angle and you may notice that the weather was a bit cloudy.
Thank you so much for your participation and support! Tomas
Tatacoa Desert (Desierto de la Tatacoa) is located approximately 38km from the city of Neiva in Colombia, South America. This area is full of amazing landscapes, interesting culture and wildlife. There is also an astronomical observatory here! (due to the low amount of light pollution, the desert is an excellent place for stargazing at night)
Thank you so much for your submission and contribution. Tomas
This is the viewpoint of Fortin de la Galera, located on the north coast of Isla Margarita, in the Bay of Juan Griego, in Venezuela, a place where you can see the best landscapes. In each corner of this island one can find places as spectacular as this one that give you good mood to have a spectacular day.
Thank you so much for that view!
When we visited the Salar de Uyuni in southern Bolivia we went out one night to take pictures on the salt flats. It happened to be a full moon and I don't think I've seen the moon so bright before in my life. You could see clearly and it was casting shadows just like the sun.
What an outstanding image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas
I took this photo while guiding a group of students in the penguin reservation in Puerto Madryn, Argentina.
Every year about 2 million penguins come to this same place to lay their eggs and have the next generation... This creatures are maybe the cutest creatures in the world...
What a cute little fella!
Do you have a day for Central America photography?
View of a sunset from the fort of La Galera, on the island of Margarita - Venezuela. This historic fort was the seat of one of the battles for the independence of our country, today there is only the memory and these beautiful landscapes.
What a breath-taking sunset. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us!
Morro Castle is a fortress guarding the entrance to Havana bay in Havana, Cuba. The Spanish "morro" means a rock which is very visible from the sea and therefore serves as a navigational landmark.
Poetic and bohemian neighborhood with lots of street art frescoes and colorful houses. A true Montmartre in the heart of Lima with a bohemian spirit where you can also discover many local artisans. To do absolutely!
Barranco-Lima
One of the main tourist attractions that Barquisimeto has is the Flor de Venezuela designed ecologically to show our biodiversity.It has a system of 16 petals that can be opened and closed.
This flower opens its petals to the sky, according to the climatic conditions, and its lights make it look like our national flower: The Orchid, being a show that enhances its structural beauty.
The Obelisk of Buenos Aires is a historical monument considered an icon of the city in Argentina. It is located in the Plaza de la Republica. A very touristy place and being in a central place in the city, everyone can see it every day.
This Easter on the "Margarita" island our beaches are visited by many tourists and residents, in order to enjoy the sea, the sun and our food. This particular beach is called "Juventud" and is located in Pampatar. This small bay has become a very popular beach in recent years for its gentle waves.
When something important happens for Argentines, this is the place where everyone gathers to celebrate, admire, or converse. It is the obelisk of Argentina, that structure has similar throughout the world but this in Argentina has already become part of the Argentine tradition, will this year celebrate Argentina something there because of the world cup?
This is the view offered by the city of Huaraz, located in Peru and you can see the highest mountain in this place, a short time from trips you can enjoy the snow that covers these snowy peaks and contains vehicle access to a fairly high point high. Welcome to the Andes mountain range
