@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

The spectacular view from the top of Roy's Peak on New Zealand's south island. It's 1400meters up from the car park just a few miles outside of Wanaka. I was up there for sunset and was the only person staying in the freezing November winds. It was great to have such a view for myself :-)

To see icebergs in Greenland is the dream of many people. For our freedivers team this was also the purpose of our trip. But on the tops of the icebergs, we certainly did not stop. We became one of the first people in the World who saw the beauty and grandeur of the underwater part of the ice giants.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday #20 – winner announcement!

@ansharphoto African Wednesday entry:

Quiver Trees at Dawn, Namibia. My first day in Namibia did not disappoint. I traveled with a group of photographers to the Quiver Forest, a place for which the photographs had not prepared me. The Quiver Forest is actually privately-owned land — the Guriganus Farm — and the “trees” which make up this otherworldly forest are not actually trees at all, but plants. Their fibrous trunks are easy to hollow out and were once widely used as quivers for arrows.

@skiesandsports European Thursday entry:

Lake District Sunrise. This one is from my favourite place in the world, the Lake District here in the UK. It's such an incredible place - unsurprisingly FULL of lakes! - and perfect for sunrise/sunset shoots looking over the incredible landscape! If you are ever in the UK I'll give you one tip, don't bother with London, that's not even close to the best part of the UK!!

Sucre, the capital of Bolivia, is an amazing city. While in the closeby city of Potosí huge amounts of silver were mined, the rich mine owners preferred to live in Sucre and built a beautiful white city. The church you see in the background is San Felipe Neri, one of my favourite buildings in Sucre.

Love the tone of this photo! And the 2 figures make it look like a movie scene =)

After a few hours' hike from the village El Chaltén in Argentina, I reached this turquoise glacier lake in front of Mount Fitz Roy. It is an unforgettable experience trekking in this region with magnificent peaks and stunning waterways.

Another postcard by Donica :)) Breathtaking scenery...

Wow, I like the dramatic peaks in the background ;)

These “smoking” peaks could be seen most of the time during the hike :)

This is quite an epic image! Excellent job with this one. Thank you!

Easter Island Chile.

ei2-15.jpg
Moai at Ahu Tongariki
My Girlfriend and I got to explore Easter Island for 6 days at the start of 2017. We hired a scooter and rode around the island. I got to snap this photo with the little bird sitting on the Moai 's head, which I thought was pretty rad :) Easter Island has left an impression on me that will last a lifetime.

Wonderful photo, dreamy.

Thank you ☺

I like the dark mood of this photo :) Nice composition with the big head in the foreground.

Thankyou. It was a rainy day which set the mood.

Thank you so much for your great entry! Have a great day and stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Thanks Tomas 👍

Bolivia for me is South America’s most underrated country. This photo portrays just how colorful and breathtakingly beautiful the country is. Southern Bolivia is one of my absolute favorite regions in the country. You can book multiple day jeep tours crossing national reserves and mountain peaks and you will see nature at its finest.

Judging by this picture it sure is underrated. Looks just stunning. Tomas

Machu Picchu is one of those places one has to visit in his lifetime. So during our travels through Peru we made sure to include it in our travel itinerary. When we went up in the morning though, it was raining and there was no magic light, which I was hoping for. But standing there was still a magical experience.

I have never seen an image of Machu Picchu just like this one. Looks great! Tomas

At the high plateaus of the chilean Andes I discovered this bunch of cute donkeys standing in the dry desert in front of black vulcanoes. The threatening dark clouds of a upcoming bad weather front fit nicely to the black vulcanoes and give the image more dramatic...

Thank you so much for your submission. What a great entry. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

The image corresponds to the Kukenan Tepuy located in the Canaima National Park in southern Venezuela, and I managed to take it when I made the crossing to Roraima a few months ago. It was an unforgettable experience and I recommend it to everyone ..

Beautiful image! Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you very much, I am a regular follower of your publications and even sometimes I think that my photos are not so good, you convince me otherwise.

I travelled the Paso de Jama (a mountain pass) between Salta in Argentina and San Pedro de Atacama in Chile. The scenery is out of this world. This road is full of hairpin turns and bends and with an altitude of almost 5.000 metres, you have to be cautious not to get sick.

Thank you for your submission. The winner announcement will be coming later on today. Tomas

The Bay of Juangriego, Margarita - Venezuela.

View from a restaurant in the Bay

Located northwest of the Isla de Margarita, the Bay of Juangriego emerges with its imposing beach guarded by the Fort of La Galera and its incredible sunsets of reddish to golden hues considered one of the most beautiful twilights of Venezuela. In addition, the Bay is an ideal place for fishing and tourism since there are many restaurants located just meters from the beach where you can see the beautiful sunsets.

Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Took this picture in Sajama National Park in Bolivia, very close to the Chile border. The park was not so easy to get to but it was an absolute nature wonder. My trip there was unforgettable.

Glad to see your entry here once again. Great image. Thank you so much. Tomas

This photo was taken on Playa Negra in Costa Rica, which is a black sand beach that stretches more than 10 km. It´s beautiful, very calm black sand beach where you can find many sand dollars . Best thing about Black Beach is its simple beauty (no people, no bars).

This is the view to the city of Caracas from Venezuela. Taken from the mountain called "avila" I love to go up to this place because I can see the immensity that my city of birth has, it is simply beautiful. From the top of the mountain one feels so small with all the enormous that surrounds you. It is wonderful all the way up this mountain for all the sight that gives us.

This picture was taken with my Blu R1 HD phone. August 2016

Beautiful composition..

Thank you so much for your submission. Have a great day. Tomas

Welcome to the jungle! One of many wooden bridges found in the Manzanillo National Park in Costa Rica. I well remember all the sounds of the jungle (cicadas, howler monkeys, parrots etc) while taking this shot. It was a truly unique experience and unforgettable hike.

Marble Caves - Chile

For over thousands of years, the waters of General Carrera Lake and the Patagonian wind have moulded the marbles here, creating a series of tunnels and caves, which are breathtaking. To get there you have to reach the village of Puerto Rio Tranquilo in Chile and hire a boat, as that is the only way to get to them.

Hey, I have a picture almost the same as yours here! This marble cave and the whole region are simply amazing! You remind me to dig out my photos from those travels. =)

Photo taken from the mountain, it is the best view on the island of margarita, it is a necessity to show you this photo, in this place the time passes faster than normal. It is located in the northernmost part of the island

This was taken on the first day of a four day trek to Macchu Picchu... spent the morning down hill mountain biking followed by white water rafting after lunch....then had to jungle trek up several mountains to get to our accom at the very top... this was the view that was awaiting... think the rainbow was a nice touch :)

This picture is from my trip to Rio de Janeiro. After one hour climbing, you can see this beautiful view. The name of the mountain is Pão de Açúcar. A perfect place for rock climbing.

I took this picture during a reed boat ride on the Titicaca Lake on the border of Bolivia and Peru. The lake is full of small floating islands fashioned by the indigenous people living there. They simply look other worldly. I was lucky to be there on a wonderful sunny day and the colours were just amazing.

The Mucubají Lagoon
It is located in the Sierra Nevada Park, in the state of Merida, Venezuela. It is one of the largest lagoons in the region. It is believed that the name of the lagoon is due to the name of the indigenous inhabitants of the region. Mucubají means in this language "large water site". The lagoon is of glacial origin and is about ten thousand years old.

When I was in Peru, I decided to go explore Titicaca Lake and took a 3 days tour to see how people lived on the islands. Visited three islands and saw how people lived in a very rustic way. This picture is from the path that goes around Amantani island.

Photo of the famous sculpture La Mano (The Hand) of the artist Mario Irarrázabal, which is located at Brava Beach in Punta del Este, Uruguay.
This sculpture is one of the landmarks of the city of Punta del Este. You can realize the size of the sculpture by seen the silhouette of a person behind one of the fingers.

Horse racing is a popular weekend outing here in Paraguay.
The villagers let their horses compete against each other.
To save weight is ridden without a saddle.

Greetings from the heart of South America.

Best photography ever seen on steemit. Great, love it

These kinds of photo always makes me wonder if history is real or we're missing something big.

Ouro Preto - Brazil
Ouro Preto is one of the oldest cities in Brazil, even though it is only 306 years old. Ouro means gold and Preto is black. In 1730 the population here was 80 thousand people. At that time even New York only had half of this population. But the gold rush came to an end and now tourism is what brings the money. It is one of the most visited historical cities in Brazil and it is worth a visit. The colonial architecture is wonderful and very well preserved. The old town is a UNESCO heritage site since 1980.

This beach is located in Venezuela, it is called "El Yaque" beach
and these sports that use the wind are practiced ...
It is a very important tourist destination on this island and it is common to see people from any part of the world to visit it ... perfect beach for windsurfing and kaysurfing

I took this picture in the state of Sucre. My hand was intentional. I wanted to make the shape of the letter "V" of Venezuela. I hope you enjoy it, I could see this sunset after enjoying a day at the beach. The most curious thing is that I was in a house facing the sea. The inhabitants of this place (San Antonio del Golfo) can contemplate this beautiful view daily.

Salvador de Bahia, Brazil was one of the most dangerous places I have ever visited. This city is very ambiguous: on one hand it has plenty of historical buildings and nice views, on the other one, one can worry so much about saftey that it is difficult to enjoy the walk. This is one of the landscapes seen on the famous seafront.

This is my participation in 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday week #20. Today I show you a photograph created in a sunrise from Cayo Herradura belonging to the Tortuga National Park in Venezuela.

This is my participation in 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday. Nowadays, a panoramic photograph taken in a beautiful and well-known beach called "Parguito", in the State "Nueva Esparta" - Venezuela. Parguito beach is 1 kilometer long and big waves. It is the favorite of the residents of the island. This beach has a lot of activity during most of the year.
