@benfenson Australian Monday entry:
This is Kiama lighthouse on the NSW, Southcoast, taken during a violent thunderstorm at the start of this years storm season. My partner and i had originally walked out to the tip of the headland to photograph the storm coming in from the West but the storm was moving so quickly that by the time we had setup, bolts of lightning were exploding all around us prompting us to head for cover. Just before making it back to the car the wind and rain hit luckily my camera gear stayed dry!.... I didn't ;)

Sunset Baltic Sea coast, nearby Klaipeda, Lithuania. A big stone as center of a composition and long exposure to freeze the movement of the wave. The most difficult part is actually to stay with dry shoes :) Every time sea just tries to catch me, but have enough experience so far to predict bigger waves. Enjoy it!

I have no doubt that Sudan is one of the best places in the World for diving. Always warm Red Sea, an abundance of colorful corals and tropical fish make every dive striking and unforgettable. It's a place where every instant of water under water you want to leave in your memory and on the photographers, of course!

There are many beautiful places in Europe, but it's hard not to be taken by the beauty of Lake Como, Italy. I took this photo in the town of Varenna, about 40 miles north of Milan. The town itself is super small, less than 1000 people, but it's part of a string of small towns in this area. There are plenty of lovely restaurants, gardens and historic buildings for the many tourists who come here. This is one of those parts of the world that lives up to its reputation.
Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is easily one of the most striking cities in Europe, a jewel perched along the banks of the Danube. On my first night in the city, I took a walk along this storied river, and was instantly charmed by Budapest and its architecture. In the blue light of an early evening, with the lights of the city reflected in the Danube, Budapest is especially beautiful.
Wow. This is incredible. The colors are perfect. Amazing shot.
Amazing!
Very fresh frame from yesterdays evening shot at Baltic Sea coast, nearby Klaipeda, Lithuania. Stunning insane sunset colors caused by very high humidity of the air.
This piece of wood somehow reminds me a swan ready fly into this colourful sunset
Enjoy it!

Such an awesome shot. The framing of the sun is perfect and the color of the sky is amazing. You always have such great colors in your pictures.
The Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias in Valencia is one of Spain's most controversial building projects: The architectural wonder went one billion Euros over budget and still, some buildings are already falling apart just years after opening. Nevertheless, this place is now an iconic landmark of Valencia and a cannot be missed!
Awesome shot. Too bad some of the buildings are already falling apart and most likely wont be able to stand the test of time like so many other great works of art in the area.
Perspective shades everything in life. It's not the situation itself that determines how we think and act; its how we view the situation. Here is a slightly different take on the classic Matterhorn sitting at 4,478 metres (14,692 ft). Shot while enjoying the winter sun from the summit of the neighboring Klein Matterhorn (Little Matterhorn) at 3,883 metres (12,740 ft). Switzerland.

Prague, Charles bridge
Charles bridge is one of the most visited monuments in Prague. One day when I set off to take pictures of the city center I noticed that the waterworks beneath the bridge are in the lower position. So I headed to the bridge where they were to see stones on the waterfront, which is not commonly seen.
I took this photo in Venice during my last visit which dates back to last week.
It was a beautiful day, I visited many monuments and important buildings, such as the Bovolo Staircase, St. Mark's Square and the Basilica of San Marco, the Doge's Palace etc ...
I advise everyone to visit Venice and those who are curious can visit my blog where every day, I tell with my photos and my feelings, the magical places of Venice.
The best sunrise I ever photographed in Iceland. Out in the middle of nowhere on the northern Strandir coast of the Westfjords is a swimming pool and a beach at a place called Krossnes. We had the place to ourselves.
(I shared a different but similar photo of this sunrise for this contest a long time ago).
Your landscapes are so awesome. This is such a perfect photo.
Thank you!! :D
These are some of my favorite place in France, rocky beaches and strange shaped cliffs. The northern ocean is quite cold and not much people are swimming there. People rather walk along the cliff to there summit watching the ocean from above.
Location: Etretat, France.
The winery estate Herdade das Servas is a well-known wine producer located near the city of Estremoz, in the heart of the Alentejo wine region (southern Portugal). The way the farmhouse was built, in total harmony with nature and land, is a great example of eco-friendly architecture !
This is so unique! I love it!
Thanks Flo :)
Awesome shot, love the composition and all the textures and patterns!
Thanks @shadalene :)
Rural scene in Lombardy, Italy. Walking in the fields around San Felice del Benaco near Lake Garda I felt some peace of mind. Probably this rural landscape just disposes of it.

Lisbon, capital of Portugal. Walking around Lisbon is tough. Lots of hills require minimal physical preparation. However, the reward for the brave people willing to do it is views like this one.
Beautiful island, colorful! very friendly to visit when there are few people, less pleasant to take pictures with several people around. to be well aware of the Vapporeto crossing times, because of the long journey; it is better to go there time to enjoy the calm and the scenery !!
Enjoy!
Burano Island, Venice
Hello @czechglobalhosts,
We had a pleasant travel to St Petersburg last summer between July 11-18. Although the "White Nights" is not unique to St. Petersburg, but from late May to July St Petersburg enjoys a natural phenomenon called White Nights where the sun never completely sets. In my picture you see Neva River at 3AM while we disembark from cruise ship.
Nice shot @otrip.
Thank you very much.
So beautiful and full of calm!
I appreciate your comment. Wish you have a trip to this city.
This is the Palace Bridge (St.Petersburg, Russia). It's one of the very important tourist attraction that every tourist visiting St. Petersburg should see.
This bridge is so called because it is located next to the Winter Palace, in which the emperors and kings of the Russian Empire lived.

The hotel where I stayed was across the street from this church so when I left in the morning and when I returned at night this is what I got to look at. I found it to be a beautiful church and spent a great deal of time photographing it.

Photo is from Kranjska Gora and it was taken about a month ago. I loved this year’s winter in Slovenia as it is the real one, with a lot of snow and cold weather. That is what I like about four seasons. I have to admit I can’t wait for spring to become even warmer and sunnier, but on the other hand I will miss winter soon.

Toulouse - The city of Pink
Toulouse is the 4th largest city in France. It has a lot of foreign students and it is where the Airbus factory located. This city was called "The city of Pink" because at the sunset, all the city was painted by the pink of brick, the pink of graceful sun light. I was so lucky when I had chance to visit Toulouse in Autumn. All the city becomes pinker because of leaves, of trees, etc. This photo was taken in the riverside of Garonne River which in middle of the city. In the afternoon, people usually walk along the riverside, settle down to drink beers, talk about their days and looking at the beautiful sunset. Let's "Come to Toulouse and live like a Toulouser".
Best,
The Galicia Neuvea Castle Hotel is located in the south of Central Slovakia, 8 km north of the town called Lučenec, a short distance from the Hungarian border. The Galicia Neuvea Castle Hotel has been providing its services since June 2016 (because of the reconstruction) when first guests had the opportunity to visit the restored monument and enjoy th gastronomic services of the Rosalia Castle Restaurant, the Arcadia Café and the Nicolaus Winery. The hotel is designed for those who´re looking for a slightly active leisure without the disturbing effects of mass tourism. The hotel spaces are the ideal place for organizing congresses, business meetings, workshops but also weddings, balls and concerts. Perfectly relax guests can enjoy in the exclusive wellness area with a pool, saunas, massages. The bauty of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed in the French park and the forest park with a pond.
The Vilnius Cathedral and the Bell Tower, most famous landmarks found in center of Vilnius, capital city of Lithuania, one of the Baltic countries in Northeastern Europe. I took this image in April 2015 when I spent a week in this not so touristy, yet interesting country.
On a cloudy and misty morning at Oriveto, Italy, we missed the bus to Civita di Bagnoregio, so instead we stuck around at Oriveto, and wandered to the edge of the old city, where we see this amazing view of the Umbrian Landscape covered with mist and low lying clouds. It was a beautiful scene and we were actually glad that we missed the bus to be able to see something as magnificent as this.
Photo of the Grand Canal (Canal Grande in Italian) of Venice, taken near the Rialto bridge.
In the image can be seen that the Canal is mainly used by the iconic Gondolas of this unusual city. The "shores" are plenty of historical palaces.
The beautiful mountains called Rest & Be Thankful in Scotland, and what a beautiful place to rest and be thankful in!
Florence is my current home and I decided to share with you one of its greatest monuments.
''The Ponte Vecchio is a medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental arch bridge over the Arno River, in Florence, Italy, noted for still having shops built along it, as was once common.''
It is the only bridge in Florence which did not have to be rebuild after the WW II.
The cathedral of St. Stephen is another recognizable symbol of Vienna. St. Stephen, the first martyr of the Christian religion, is considered to be the patron saint of Vienna. This place was formerly the parish church. Later, the temple was rebuilt here.
The construction work was not finished yet, there is a fire that damaged most of the building, therefore reconstruction works began. The temple in the Neo-Gothic style was completed in 1230
My Entry
The Parque Eduardo VII located north of the Avenida da Liberdade and the Marquess of Pombal Square,Filling a surface of 26 hectares, the Eduardo VII Park is the largest public park in Lisbon. That is Baku, the beautiful place. Baku is the capital city of Azerbaijan and the largest city. The city is located in the southeast of Azerbaijan on the west coast of the Caspian Sea on the Abestone Peninsula . There are many oil fields in the Caspian Sea near the city. Oil refining is therefore the main industry of the city. The pipelines originated from Baku are supplied with oils in Sahasha , Georgia , Novosarycz and the Black Sea coast of Russia and the Mediterranean Sea in Tehran in Turkey . Also Baku has iron, cotton, leather and food processing factories. We are go here for our Medical Esthetic seminar at aesthetics and anti-age medicine congress, azerbaijan.
Camogli is a fishing village on the Ligurian coast of Italy. It is so unknown to tourists, that you will only hear Italian spoken on the streets. The town is known for hosting "Sagra del Pesce" - the fish festival every May, complete with the most extravagant fireworks. The beautiful, colorful houses that line up the beach once helped the fisherman find their way back to the port. And if you visit on a gloomy, spring day like this one, they will make you smile!
Terceira Island is part of the Azores archipelago, Portugal. Its name refers to the fact that it was the third island of the archipelago to be discovered, after Santa Maria and San Miguel. Here a very good photo of the Eastern part, which is less wooded than the Western one.
VENICE It is a city located in the northeast of Italy, its historic center was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. This trip was a dream come true for me. I share this beautiful image of the gondolas, ships representative of that beautiful city.
One of the best places in Europe - Bretagne, France, close to city Crozon. There is beautiful path, you can have nice hiking but also you can find some hidden beaches there. I guess it's also a good place for surfing, but I didn't try.
Mallorca, Spain - Mallorca Spanien
Mallorca is one of the most beautiful island i ever travelled to.This is cala S´almunia.!There are hundreds of breathtaking beaches with many different watercolours. Mallorcas/Spains culture and food are outstanding.
Scheveningen is the district of Haag, the capital of Netherlands. There is a beautiful promenade with its main dominant, Grand Hotel Kurhaus located close to De Pier. Close to this place there are many various restaurants and bars where you can satisfy your senses. Photo taken at late afternoon.

Malta - the Blue lagon, Comino island
This is Vodita Monastery, a church typical to the Northern part of Romania, which, surprisingly, I came across in Mehedinti county - Southwest Romania during an extensive trip through the country. Romania has beautiful church architecture, which was one of my main subjects in photography.
