Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Europe.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

We had been finishing our road trip in 2014 in a town of Hel, Poland. We just checked in in a hotel when I realized, something was happening with the light. I grabbed my gear and ran to the sun hoping there should be the sea. Happily, Hel located on a peninsula and the sun were setting on the shore in the shortest distance from me. On the beach, I noticed the seagulls and thought they could be a nice foreground. But they noticed me too, so I ended up trying to catch them and the waves in one shot.

Quiver Trees, Namibia. The Afrikaners called the trees kokerboom, but because their fibrous, pulpy trunks are easy to hollow out and were once widely used as quivers for arrows for bushmen, they are known as quiver trees. The trees are naturally found in only this one relatively small part of Africa, and typically grow alone, like curiously-formed sentinels guarding the landscape. There are fewer than two hundred of them left in the world.

I took this photo last September in the Borgarbyggð municipality of western Iceland. The landscape here is very rocky with beautiful gorges and glaciers and it's unique because of the volcanic activity that makes for some great photos. I missed some of the big landmarks during my trip like Blue Lagoon, so eventually I feel like I need to make another trip here again. But I loved my time there!
At first glance, I thought you got confused with the days since I thought it is the Grand Canyon then I realized I am the one that is confused! Great entry!
Thanks! Well, I'll be honest about two things. First, I've come close on a few days of posting the wrong continent but realized my mistake. And second, even though it's only one state over, I've never been to the Grand Canyon. I really need to make the trip there!
Spectacular Sunset in Oia, Santorini
Everyone knows Santorini for its famed blue and white churches, but it’s equally famous for its sunsets, so much so that crowds of tourists gather at certain points on the island for the best views. Oia, in particular, is regarded as one of best places on the island to watch the sun go down. In summer, which is the high tourist season in Santorini — finding a spot to oneself is all but impossible.
This is a beautiful shot, as a result I have added Santorini to my travel list. Thank you for sharing. Also I saw your gallery that your image links to, it is breathtaking! Great work

Something from Germany today. One of the very rare photos, which I took just a few kilometers from where I live here in Franconia. The landscapes around here are not very photogenic, normally I have to drive at least 200km to find something to photograph. But in summer, when the sunflowers bloom, this is different.
Can´t wait to cycle through the field of those! Love it!

Another photo of the township of Hallstatt, this time in the middle of a stormy afternoon, looking across to the wharf from the lakeside walkway. The low lying clouds covered the mountains behind the town, making it look mysterious and misty, while some afternoon sun still managed to shine onto the storm clouds illuminating the buildings along the waterfront. A view that is worth getting wet for!

Bad Muskau Castle, Germany.
Last year we had a couple of days in beautiful Bad Muskau. I was so lazy that morning that almost gave up to jump off the bed. But I did it. Sunrise was coming, and I had so little time to get to the place I had found the previous day. My award was this beautiful sky, the sunlight touching the tower through rare gaps in the clouds and amazingly calm water in the lake.

Yet another colourful and very calm evening at Baltic Sea coast, nearby Klaipeda, Lithuania. This time used nice stone at foreground as a central part of composition. Also got some nice reflection out there :)

In urban traffic jams, there may be some benefit. On weekends, to get into the country, one must leave the city long before dawn. Otherwise, there is a risk of staying in traffic for the whole day. Therefore, we arrived at the great Russian river Volga around 6 am. The sun was just getting ready to rise. Fog hovered above the water. There was a rare silence. We did not have any

In August of last year, I went with friends to dive to Cape Tarhankut. And there Jellyfish was abundant. Knowing that the pictures of these jellyfish have already made an incredible amount, I wanted to try to take them off as something unusual. There were two ideas.
The first is to take a picture in half water at sunset.
Sunsets always look good, and in half the water, all the more.

It is located at the mouth of the Tagus River, in the neighborhood of Santa Maria de Belém, southwest of Lisbon. It was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1983.
And I had the joy of contemplating the sunset in this beautiful place.

The small port of Santa Lucia Naples-Italy has retained all its charm, nestled between a rocky island and the jetty that connects it to the shore. It is home to yachts and a host of friendly bars. From the pier, one enjoys an admirable view of Mount Vesuvius and the western part of the Gulf. If, at nightfall, you move a little towards Piazza Vittoria, the view of the Vomero and the brilliant Pausilippo of all their storied buildings becomes magical.

One of many breathtaking sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean I was priviled to see while living in the picturesque little town of La Romantica on the Canarian Island of Tenerife back in 2016. Those plant silhouettes are actually blooming aloe vera we had growing on the terrace.
We traveled to Italy in September 2016 for a wedding and took advantage of our time there to visit the increasingly famous region of Cinque Terre. The area is made of fishermen villages nested in the moutains and with the main features being multi-coloured houses and lots and lots of stairs! We based ourselves randomly in Vernazza, one of the 5, which ended up being the perfect choice as very close to the train station whereas all the others involved quite a long walk to get to the accomodation. The walks between the villages offers spectacular views like this one of Vernazza!
This is one of several beautiful landscapes that one can glimpse in the Natural Reserve of the Sado Estuary, located in the Alentejo region (southern Portugal). This palafite quay is one of the structures that still remains unchanged, being frequently used by amateur fishermen ...
This is the enchanting golden hour in Hallerbos of Belgium. I captured the warm rays shining through birch trees onto the flower carpet of blooming bluebells. Each spring from March to May, you can see this stunning purple-blue forest covered with wild hyacinth flowers.

Windsor Castle (UK, Windsor) - The current residence of the Queen.
The Windsor Castle is included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest castle on the planet.
And I was attracted to this castle and the fact that it is not just a museum or a landmark, but a fully functioning and to this day construction. Here, high-ranking guests are still received and sign important contracts. According to Queen Elizabeth II, this castle is her favorite residence. However, she lives there only a few months of the year.

hi photography senior friends how are you all. today visited a tourist place in eceh indonesia I spent the afternoon at one of the cafes that are in the coastal village of Java. I enjoy a very beautiful sunset I photographed his camera using samsung galaxy smartphone grand2 hopefully my friends love this same photo of me.
Took this photo in Vernaz, Switzerland. This was by far the most interesting hike I have ever completed in my life. While the views were obviously incredible and provided a 360 degree view of the surrounding valleys and Alps, there was an explosion that rocked the entire town and ended up causing a massive fire in which we had a birdseye view of. We had to come down early when the avalanche alarm went off and found out later there were large amounts of ammonia in the air which luckily didn't drift into us.
This place in Sevilla, Spain features two of the city's most important landmarks: The cathedral, which is the third-biggest in the world, and the beautiful royal palace (right) where parts of the kingdom of Dorne for Game of Thrones was filmed.

Spectacular Balo's beach in Greece (Crete). You can get there by car, ship or by bike. I can recommend bike as you will avoid to have problem where to park. It's crowded even in September but this is one of the most interesting beach I've ever seen.
Sarcophagus found in a museum in Naples, Italy. Judging by the quantity and the details of each characters, we can conclude that it was used for an important person. How lucky are we to be able to admire it today!
Photo of the Slovenian town of Kanal. It is located at the South West of Slovenia in the shores of the river Soča (Isonzo in Italian). The name of the town is due to the shape of the valley where it is located. The bridge in the photo was built after the first world war, however there has been a bridge in here since the time of the Romans.
Here is my entry.
I took this photo in Rome, Italy. We went there for vacation. I’ve always wanted to see Italy, for some reason it was my dream. So my husband took me there. It was unforgettable experience. Italian wine, pizza, spaghetti are such a rich and delicious food. Although I posted picture from Rome I liked Venice most of all cities. The water through and around Venice makes it very beautiful and unique.
If you have time and thinking of where to go, choose Italy, you will never regret.
Walking the Gijón promenade, North of Spain, the city of Gijón can be seen under the setting sun on the other side of the bay. Some surfers are waiting for the waves with their neoprene outfits in the water. Taken with an iphone 5S.
An icy road to heaven!
While walking on the volcanic rocks covered of snow, I enjoy the icelandic landscape and especially these fantastic clouds lighten by the setting sun. The night is going to be freezing...

One of the many magical alleyways I found myself entranced by in Spain. On a rainy day in Barcelona, the hustle and bustle of casual morning life whizzed past me from all directions as I stood there, not at all feeling the rain, and instead feeling engulfed by an overwhelming beauty found in the streets that many call home. How I hate strip malls.

The Peneda-Gêres National Park, the only national park in all of Portugal, is a park that mixes virgin nature and civilization. In the image you can see its characteristic bridges over the river.
Tepmle of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, also called Temple of Tibidabo, because its located on the top of Tibidabo mountain. From that amazing place you can enjoy view on Barcelona. Near this church is an amusement park, where were filmed scenes to Woody Allen´s Vicky Cristina Barcelona movie.

Rome, Italy. Freezing February is not the ideal time to stroll around Rome, but you get different colors and different ambiances. This shot was taken walking along the Tiber, near Isola Tiberina.
Light house in Geneva.. I went for a walk in Geneva and by chance I found this beautiful place. I had a nice memory here.. If you can see the gentleman in front of the light house, When I reached there I asked him to take my picture and he did it kindly. Than we walked the way back together..
Brugges is my favorite city in Belgium. It's very small, but feels very historic. It's full of old buildings, water canals, and you can also find many places with delicious cheese and chocolate.

A sunny view of the vineyards of the castle of Rametz near Merano, Trentino-Alto-Adige region, Italy. The foothills of the Dolomites are famous for their unique tropical climate, so here they grow the famous grapes of Gevurstraminer variety from which a magnificent tasty wine is obtained.
