7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #20 – winner announcement!
@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:
The spectacular view from the top of Roy's Peak on New Zealand's south island. It's 1400meters up from the car park just a few miles outside of Wanaka. I was up there for sunset and was the only person staying in the freezing November winds. It was great to have such a view for myself :-)

To see icebergs in Greenland is the dream of many people. For our freedivers team this was also the purpose of our trip. But on the tops of the icebergs, we certainly did not stop. We became one of the first people in the World who saw the beauty and grandeur of the underwater part of the ice giants.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday #20 – winner announcement!
@ansharphoto African Wednesday entry:
Quiver Trees at Dawn, Namibia. My first day in Namibia did not disappoint. I traveled with a group of photographers to the Quiver Forest, a place for which the photographs had not prepared me. The Quiver Forest is actually privately-owned land — the Guriganus Farm — and the “trees” which make up this otherworldly forest are not actually trees at all, but plants. Their fibrous trunks are easy to hollow out and were once widely used as quivers for arrows.

I believe this is still officially called Pont de Langlois (Langlois Bridge) but it's incredibly well known as Pont Van Gogh in Arles, France. This bridge was made famous when van Gogh made several paintings of it while he lived in Arles during 1888. I had a chance to watch the sunrise here and understand why van Gogh was so inspired!
Dürnstein - Danube River
Dürnstein is a small town on the Danube river in the Krems-Land district. It's a beautiful little town in the Wachau region, which is quite popular area for tourist from around the world. They grow fantastic grapes and produce great wine. The photo shows a typical alley in the town.
Absolutely lovely! Just call for a walk.
Oia Village at Sunset, Santorini
It’s easy to be enchanted in Santorini. Walking among the pastel-hued houses of Oia at the end of a day, I find myself completely charmed by the small village, with its windmills overlooking the Aegean Sea. With golden hour sunlight falling gently over the village, Oia was particularly lovely.
wow, it is beautiful! Just from the top of my bucket list!
Agreed with you! Oia is such a lovely place 😊
Beautiful Santorini captured in an amazing image. Well done. Tomas
awesome! I really have to visit santorini in the next years. This is magical
Lake District Sunrise
This one is from my favourite place in the world, the Lake District here in the UK. It's such an incredible place - unsurprisingly FULL of lakes! - and perfect for sunrise/sunset shoots looking over the incredible landscape! If you are ever in the UK I'll give you one tip, don't bother with London, that's not even close to the best part of the UK!!
Fantastic scenery, it looks like New Zealand. I love it, it really makes me want to explore UK.
Wow, stunning image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas
One of the resent shots at Curonian Spit, Lithuania. Beautiful place with dunes, sand and perfect coastline for landscapes and seascapes.
This time was pretty cold winter evening with amazing colors on sunset
Enjoy it!

We also have some beautiful views and architecture here in Germany. And today I want to show you one. This is the old castle in Heidelberg, which I photographed a few years ago during sunset. It's really worth a visit.
I'm going there in May! Can't wait to come back with thousands of photos like this. :) Up'd & Following!
Epic picture! Great sharing. Tomas
The glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón in southern Iceland during sunset. I took a long exposure to blur the clouds and the water, to help make the stationary ice floes stand out. The ice moves around quite a lot, so I was glad to catch these floes in a quiet moment.
Just wow!
Wow! Really beautiful picture!
Thank you! :)
While on a fall vacation through Tuscany (Italy), we had actually picked olives from our friend's olive grove and then went to have them pressed in the local town press, I shot this small villa from across the ravine. The fog, and the lighting was AMAZING. Fog rolling through the Italian countryside :) It was an awesome experience!
Be SURE to click this an open the larger version

what a lovely countryside :)
You just gotta love Tuscany, it is hard not to! Thank you for your image. Tomas
Here's my entry for 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday by @czechglobalhosts
One of my favourite places on earth. The beautiful Interlaken, in Switzerland. It's a well-known tourist destination in the Bernese Highlands region of the Swiss Alps, located on the flat alluvial land called Bödeli between the two Lakes of Brienz to the east and Thun to the west and alongside the river Aare. This probably the cleaniest town i ever visit during my trip in Europe :)
Beautiful! Thank you so much for your continued support. Tomas
Your welcome Tomas :)
A shot taken during an hike on the island of Stromboli (Italy). Mt. Stromboli, nicknamed "Lighthouse of the Mediterranean", is one of the three active volcanoes in Italy and is constantly active with minor eruptions that occur at the summit craters at intervals ranging from minutes to hours.
WOW!! This is incredible!
nice shots!
That is an amazing capture!
Wow .. it's like you could feel the heat. A really incredible picture. You caught the moment ... for all of us.
This shot was last year, when I was strollin' around the city and photographing with a friend.
It shows the St. Charles Church in Vienna. By the way, I like your contests, thanks for organizing :)
Cool shot, very imposing!
This is honestly my favorite shot of the bunch, for today.
What a great shot! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas
We were on a guided tour to the Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany, and we were given 30 minutes to get from the bottom of the hill to the top where the castle was before the tour starts. Being young and fit we passed most people and got to the top within 15 minutes. Once on the top, we noticed a small path with a "Do not Cross" sign. We decided to ignore it and ventured on the path. We were treated with this beautiful view of the valley below, with the Hohenschwangau Castle in the foreground and the Alps in the background.
I guess sometimes it pays to break the rules.
The Guadiana is the largest river in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. Coming from Spain, flows to Portugal, to the vast and arid Alentejo region. This is a photograph of one of its navigable waterways, during spring, with low tide...
White night in Reine
Lofoten is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Lofoten is known for a distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. Though lying within the Arctic Circle, the archipelago experiences one of the world's largest elevated temperature anomalies relative to its high latitude.
I have heard about Lofoten, but never been there yet. It seems so pretty from your picture :)
What a great image! I am pretty sure I might have seen it before or something very similar to it. Have a great day. Tomas
Inspired by the head image of Gondola near the Rialto Bridge, I’m now also sharing a photo I took in Venice, Italy.
This picture was clicked at sunset from the grand canal, with a view of the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Salute. The domes in orange hues remind me of the Prague photo I submitted last week. =)
This photo was taken at the top of a hike in the Switzerland National Park in Zernez. The hike took us to the summit of the mountain where we actually couldn't even reach due to there being too much snow to even find the trail anymore. The views of the surrounding valley and Alps became one of my favorite places and memories as you could make out mountain after mountain along the skyline.
While transiting in Istanbul, I quite enjoyed exploring the city for few hours. This really is a magnificent city! Half European and half asian with an incredible history.
Here at the blue mosque, a masterpiece of architecture.
Location: Istanbul, Turkey.
This one is from my last trip to Amsterdam, in december 2017.
I love strolling trough the streets of the city and taking pictures. And I have a huuuge crush on Amsterdam's architecture!
I will definetely go there again. :)
My entry today is from the Vosges Mountains in France. This beautiful green waterfall is called Cascade Charlemagne and is hidden well in the woods near the german-french border.
It is a really stunning location and with its lush green and big ferns it looks like in the jungle...

No cars allowed
Giethoorn is a car free village in the north of The Netherlands. Instead of streets, the locals have canals and instead of cars, they use boats. It is a picture perfect village. All the little houses are very pretty and their gardens are all immaculate. You can get there by car though, but you will have to leave it in the car park, outside of the town.
Jan van Eyckplein
After wandering around the famous Grote Markt in Bruges, we went off to a side street which brought us to this square with the canal! The view captures the beautiful architecture at the Jan van Eyck square. At this point, we headed back towards the Burg square. But thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil serenity of this place!
Gozo is an island of the Maltese archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. This photo was taken in 2012 in a very small village Marsalforn where I lived. It is also location where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt filmed "By The Sea"
Panoramic view of the center of Puerto de la Cruz, a charming little town located on the Tenerife Island, Spain. The town is known for stunning, black sand beaches and amazing natural surroundings. I took this shot from a look-out spot above the town in November 2016.
This photo was taken on Mount Pilatus above Lucerne, Switzerland. It has several peaks and the highest one (2,128 m (6,982 ft) is named Tomlishorn. A bird landed in front of me and I thought it would be a nice picture with the alps in the background!

Photo of the entrance of the Grand Canal of Venice and the Punta della Dogana on the left of the photo. The church there is Santa Maria della Salute one of the most famous plague churches of Venice.
One night in Salzburg. Salzburg has one of the best views at night on the European continent. The views on the Salzburg fortress and old town are terrific. Walking through Salzburg is like reading a piece of poetry. Wonderful city.
Here is the "Victoria Memorial" in London outside of Buckingham Palace. I was there a couple years ago for a weekend. I went to meet a friend I had know for a few year. It was really fun and I had a great time hanging out with him and getting to take some picture. Enjoy and if you like this picture you should check out all of my other pictures on my blog. :)

Hearding Sheep Away From an Active Volcano
I just happened to be in Sicily the last time Mount Etna erupted and got some beautiful drone footage at night of the actual eruption, but this isn't a video contest, so instead, here's a more gentle capture, a day before she got angry and spewed CO2 and ash everywhere.
I rented a car in Catania, Sicily and just drove all over the island. It was one of my favorite weeks in 2017. Nothing like the smell of country side air and the taste of fresh wine in such jaw-dropping scenery.
This photo was taken at Cyprus. This is a Edro III cargo ship that crashed in 2011 and now situated near shore
pretty star lights :)
Hi! Thank you for your participation and this great image. However, it does not meet the minimum 30-word description to be considered for the challenge. Tomas
The mesmerising beauty of the coloured glass inside Barcelona's Sagrada Família - Gaudí's most stunning Cathedral in Spain. I was totally shocked by every parts of the architecture: the attention to details, the aestheticism, the carving!
Most of the year I have to spend in the European part of Russia. Work and various household chores do not allow me to leave home for a long time. By this I dive in all available water. We have several favorite lakes in the Tver region where we regularly go. In the summer, until the water has bloomed, you can see and photograph a lot.
I really like water lilies. If you look from under the water, you can see a section of the stem that looks like a spring. It allows flowers to rise to the surface during the day and hide in the water at night.
Night Yalta.
During a joint trip with the @photofreediver on the winter Crimea, we stopped at Yalta. Waiting for the evening, when they began to turn on the lights, I lifted my quadrocopter over the embankment of Yalta. Having driven off the drone towards the sea, I took this panorama 360 degrees. Despite the strong wind, I managed to get a picture measuring 4 meters in length.
unique perspective!very well done :) @alexeyvoron
Thank you, @rinawonderlands! :)
Today my entry is from Edinburgh. Scott Monument is a Victorian-Gothic monument to Scottish poet and writer Sir Walter Scott. The tower is 61 meters high. It is located in Princes Street Gardens and was built in 1844. The highest platform is reached by a total of 288 steps.
Molecule Man - Berlin
The Molecule Man is an monumental artwork in Berlin. It was built around 1999 from the american artist Jonathan Borofsky. It is an three-person-sculpture and is located on the Spree between Elsenbrücke and the famous Oberbaumbrücke. It is the Interface of the three districts Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Alt-Treptow.
I took this last summer...
Ciutadella in Menorca is very cosy in summer in the evening. The lights in the port create warm and romantic atmosphere. I like walking here when the sun does not burn skin and I can enjoy pleasant cool breeze.
These are the hills on Balkan mountain (Stara planina) in Serbia. They look little bit abstract but the whole mountain is gorgeous and abstract. The highest top of Stara planina in Serbia is Midzor 2169m, and in Bulgaria is Botev 2,376 m! It is wide mountain and goes all the way form Serbia - Bulgaria border to the Black sea .
This photo shows you a very popular beach on the Isar in Munich, Germany. Every summer is the beach on the Isar river a popular place for many people, to enjoy their free time.
The Isar river rises in the Karwendel mountains of the Tyrolean Alps and flows through Bavaria to the Danube.
The River Isar is the fourth largest river in Bavaria and It is Germany's second most important tributary of the Danube.

I took this photo while sitting for a cherry beer in Brudge. Many people love the city from the movie, but honestly, it's even more amazing than that. You can walk around the little city, visit some museum or church, relax under the sun with some beer (best beer so far to me) or simply try some chocolate. To me Brudge is a little charm.
This is a panoramic of the abandoned min in botallack in the southwest of england.
What comes to your mind when you think of Europe? For me, it must be the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. I took this shot on the most romantic Christmas day at the most romantic place.

some very gorgeous photos
Prato della Valle is an approximately 90,000 square meter elliptical square located in Padua, Italy. It is the largest square in Italy, and one of the largest in Europe and very beautiful, this picture was captured on a vacation with my husband, what beautiful memories.

This is my participation in Photo Challenge - European Thursday week # 20
This photograph was created from one of the bridges that are crossed by the multiple channels that the city of Brugges Belgium has, in the background the imposing tower of the city hall the Rozenhoedkaai, it is a beautiful city and conserved through time.
I took this photo in Kutaisi, Georgia. View is breathtaking from the top of the hill. I was totally amaze to see magnificent views of the gigantic snow-capped Caucasus before me. The whole city was covered in white snow, Kutaisi is not big but has many lovely Orthodox churches. With the background of Caucasus mountains, the city looks like a fairy tale setting.
Rome, Italy, is an open-air museum. Everywhere you look, you can see something amazing. I was on the Palatino Hill when I took this picture. In the back, we can see the Coliseum.
this post very nice..and great photography...i appreciate your contest..carry on my friend!!!!!!!!!!

Two symbols of London known all over the world. You can't miss them if you are visiting London. Big Ben and the underground station. When night falls you can discover London with another point of view.
