Most cities in Thailand have a city pillar called Lak Mueang. It is believed that within the shrine that holds the pillar also resides the city spirit diety, or Chao Pho Lak Mueang. This photo is of the shrine, Wat Inthakin, that formerly held the city pillar of Chiang Mai, called Sao Inthakin. This temple was built in the 13th Century and held the city pillar until 1800 when Lanna King Chao Kawila moved the pillar to the nearby Wat Chedi Luang. What Chedi Lunag is the larger temple that most tourists come to visit, but by walking further on the ground and around a corner, I encountered this smaller, but incredibly ornate and beautiful temple. I'm very glad I did!

We were on a cruise down the Three Gorges, Yangtze River, China. Rolling hills flanked both sides of the river, and here and there we can see small villages perched on the side of the hill. Apparently, we are only witnessing a fraction of the Three Gorge's former glory, as the construction of the Three Gorge Dam permanently raised the water level, making the valley much shallower, and many villages were submerged underwater. Nonetheless, the scenery was still beautiful, especially during sunrise when the sun was just rising above the rolling mountains.

Picturesque indeed! Great entry. Tomas

This is my entry for the Sunday Asia challenge which is generated by @czechglobalhosts

This is the religious pagoda which is between sichuan province of china and Nepal border...
This is the pagoda of Buddha's , people's of this village pray and stay in this pagoda it's the religious area....on the back side you can see its Nepal border which had attached with the mountain which is named Annapurna himalayan range where also located fishtail (machapuchree)and langtang it's the one of famous mountains of Nepal.

_DSC1601-1.jpg

Annapurna and Fishtail are two different peaks but I think they both lie in Annapurna Himalayan Range. And mount Everest doesn't belong here and it's not the way to Mount Everest as you said.Otherwise stunning capture

yes they both lies in one place and that place called Annapurna base camp ... yap you right it's not the way to mountain i should edit it .. it's just famous moutains as mount Everest bt not that high but beautiful one... and very thank you for correcting me as im not so good in English😉

amazing click

It's my motherland😀. Thankx for the picture at border. I have never been to border by the way but I have gone to Annapurna Base Camp. The trek route is filled with many Buddhist monastries, sweet friendly villagers and beautiful landscapes and mountains😊

you are welcome ☺

When I was in Guam last year, I found opportunity to shoot at sunset in half-water. It was in a place where there are two rocks in the sea, similar to mushrooms. The place is so called Mushroom Rocks.
The location seemed ideal for shooting and I was in anticipation of a lot of cool frames. But when I entered the water, I realized that everything would be very difficult. It turned out that this place has an incredibly strong current. I had a feeling that I did not enter the sea, but into the mountain river! To fix oneself in the water, that it would be almost impossible to catch the right frame. But I managed to do a couple of pictures that suited me.

Post and more pictures here

What a beautiful capture! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

The Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai before its inauguration, is a megatall skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) and a roof height (excluding antenna) of 828 m (2,717 ft), the Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure in the world since its topping out in late 2008.

Got very nice view from under the palms with a lights of night city. This building is just piece of art

Enjoy!

I waited until the sun was setting Penang Island so I could have a chance at a great picture, a tanked ended up floating by at the same time and I thought it made for a really cool picture. It was a beautiful sunset until the clouds rolled in, then I got really sad.

Great capture!

This picture is from Mustang, one of the popular travel destination in Nepal for International as well as domestic tourists. The exact location of this capture is some hundreds meters below from Muktinath Temple but I do not know the Name of exact place.

Great entry! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

This is a picture of The Petrona Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They were the tallest building in the world until 2004. I went all the way to the top and it was a good experience, but it was raining and the views weren't that good. However, the view of the building from groundlevel did not disappoint. It is an amazing building!

Stunning shot!

This is my photo of Hue city at night and also the city where I live. Located on the bank of Perfume River; Hue, the capital of Thua Thien Hue province in Central Vietnam, is 700 km southern Hanoi, 1100km northern Ho Chi Minh City, and only a few miles from the sea. Not until 1945 was Hue the national capital, the political, cultural and religious center of Vietnam under the control of Nguyen Dynasty. Most well-known for its historic values; Hue had been recognized as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
Renowned as the most royal city in Vietnam, Hue has enough charm to keep you staying as long as you can afford the time to visit.

Sunset in Hong Kong. The smoke, which in the day rather hinders, in the evening makes the light softer. The most difficult thing in this human anthill is to find the angle so that a couple of dozen people do not get into the picture.
Honkong

Great entry! Thank you so much!

Hong Kong in black & white

Skyscrapers, a big harbor, Chinese food, western designer labels, great hotels, Victoria Peak, ...
Hong Kong is a great city. Even though it's a "Chinese" city it feels a lot like a western metropole. We stopped in 2010 for 3 nights on our way to NZ. I love this bw photo of the busy streets at night.

Good start into the week everyone:)

This waterfall is located in Indonesia in the province of southeast nusa, the scenery here is very beautiful and also very cool, maybe because this place is in the forest close to the mountains far from residential residents. I can come here because brought by a villager is very friendly and also polite.

I visited this royal Buddhist temple - Wat Ho Pha Bang in Luang Prabang, Laos. The highly ornate temple in traditional Laos style was built to house the country’s most sacred Buddha image. The beautiful town of Luang Prabang is named after this image.

A beautiful and colourful Cambodian rural street scene. As I was visiting around Phnom Penh, I had the chance to visit a village in the surrounding of the capital where most of the people unfornatly lives in metal shade. Here a monk walking down a dirt road.

Location: Near Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Today it’s time for new photo of Flores. Perhaps the most famous attraction to see on this beautiful island. It is volcano called Kelimutu and its specialty are three craters which changes colors. It is truly an amazing natural phenomenon, which is well worth visiting it.

This photo was taken during a trip to Chaloklum bay on the island of Koh Phangan, Southern Thailand.
Chaloklum is still primarily a fishing village, and fishing trade dominates the mid-section of the beach. This is where I took this photo of the local fishermen returning from a fishing trip on there longtail boats.

This image captures a monk in a saffron robe walking at Angkor Wat near the Cambodian town of Siem Riep. There are many temples in the area, but Angkor Wat will always be the biggest attraction.

What a great image. However, it is missing the minimum 30-word description to be considered for the challenge. Thank you for your understanding. Tomas

Just this weekend, we were on our 4th year for SouthWalk and we have included the Mama Mary Shrine in Simala-Lindogon in Sibonga, Cebu. This church is very interesting because of its architecture and coming up with something better is very hard since flock of Marian devotees are all over the place. During our visit, it was raining hard and I was lucky enough to find myself in this beautiful spot.

Though this image is not a perfect symmetry but this is by far the best one I got in recent years. The best part also is that this photo is taken with a smartphone only, a Huawei P10 smartphone.

This is my first time joining by the way. Thank @czechglobalhosts for administering this contest.

Omg this taken using a smartphone??? It's better than most shots i've seen in the photography tag!

The symmetry in the shot is amazing!

This is my entry for Asian challenge.

In one of my vacations I was taken to see the beautiful country of Japan, in this photo I tried to focus on the beautiful Japanese blossom and ended up focusing on that beautiful traditional architectural work in Japan, it is a country with a beautiful culture.

Hi, this is my 1st entry for the contest:

Philippines, is known as "Pearl of the Orient Seases" because of its an Archipelago of more than 7,000 islands and more uncountable and undiscovered Islets.
And I found one in Bauan Diving Sanctuary in Bauan, Batangas located in the Southern part of Luzon.
On the last few days of Holiday Season last January, we went there for the underwater adventure, Scuba Diving.
The water is crystal and you can clearly see the rock formation beneath. That rocky Island rest house is the place where you can stay for the grand vacation to isolate yourself in the chaotic City and enjoy serenity in the midst of the Orient seas.
Photo captured by my Sony Alpha Nex-4.

This photo was taken in Tiger Roar Stone River, Hong Kong. It is a hiking route near the Lantau Peak. The strategy is to walk on the large stone instead of the small one. Otherwise, you will slip and fall down the slope.

That's amazing, can't believe it exists in Hong Kong!

Flying over the temples of Bagan

I still remember the first time I saw a picture of Bagan. It was an agglomeration of temples of all shapes and sizes, and a sky full of balloons. Realizing this dream was the highlight of my South East Asia trip!

This is a beautiful spot at Peshawar KPK Pakistan. Peshawar is most beautiful and the capital city of province Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Pakistan. It is also among the biggest cities of Pakistan. People here speak Pashto language and live simple life.
Thanks for @czechglobalhosts for organising this contest.

Very brilliant photo work here by you@czechglobalhosts. I really admire your skillfulness

Considered one of the best gardens in Japan, the Ritsurin park in Takamatsu was built during the early Edo Period. During the visit, one can see many ponds, hills, historic trees, a few pavilions, a museum and a tea house. This shot if from the tea house that offers a nice view of the pond.

If there's anything you should do in Thailand than it is renting a scooter. It took us to these gorgeous ricefields where the Thai worked hard to get things ready for the wet season. The first photo is my entry for the contest. The second photo is a photo I want to add just for fun. Please do not judge me, but I like this one a lot.

This is the picture I clicked on the way to my village. This place is 65 km far from the main city Kathmandu, which is the capital of Nepal. The main occupation people living here is agriculture and animal rearing. Many people in this place devote their lives to cultivating rice to survive. Greenery prevails all round the year in this place.

The sea arch off Qantab beach in Muscat is just a short boat ride from the city and a nice marvel of geology - its a natural erosion of the cliff face by marine processes over long periods of time. I particularly like this one because you can see a smaller arch (in the distant cliff) within the arch itself!

this chinese wall photos I took when I visited China a few months ago, this is the only photo left during a visit to china, others have been erased because yesterday my hp broken and lost all the photos stored on my phone.
at that time I did not bring the camera because my goal to china is not for the holidays but work, which I brought when it was just hp, so I took a chance with my hp to take some photos.

More than amazing u really bring photos from heaven @czechglobalhosts

To me, photography is an art of observation.
It’s about finding something interesting an ordinary place…
I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
Thanks for arrange this kind of great contest , recently i don't have any good picture to compete but i will enjoy this contest as a audience.
Thanks once again for arrange this .
Bless up @czechglobalhosts
