Everyone knows where this is. The Taj Mahal is one of the most famous buildings in the world. I think I would put this in my top 5 of places I've seen in the world, one of those places that truly lives up to expectations and surpasses them. I went on an overcast/rainy day so I tried a black and white edit to enhance the mood.
Beautiful. It’s high on my travel list! :) which other places are in your top 5?
If you get to spend a bit of time in the high altitude Himalayas you soon start to appreciate the old Nepalese pilots adage that “we don't fly when there are clouds, because the clouds have rocks in them”. Peeking though the clouds here is the incredible spire of Ama Dablam at 6,812 metres (22,349 ft).

Truly amazing!
This is a beautiful photo! Keep up the good work!
Yangshuo - A place to rest your soul
With all the trouble and hectic pace in Peking, Xian and the cruise ship on the Yangtze River, the Guilin area, especially Yangshuo is a place to rest your soul after some adventurous days before. Driving around with a bicycle, go on a relaxing rafting trip on the river, wandering through the rice fields or just drink some tea and enjoy life. The photo was taken during our bike ride along the shores.
Oh wow this is stunning, it looks like a mirrored floor. Did you find travelling china expensive or not?
Which way is up:
Great question if you mirror the image ;)
I really depends on the areas you go. Beijing, Shanghai and Hongkong can be quite expensive. But traveling by train is not as expensive and the food is also really cheap.
Love it as always. Thank you so much for your submission. Tomas
This is a photo that I took in Xinjiang, China. That's a Euphrates Poplar Forest which is about 6000 years old. Euphrates Poplar can live up to 3000 years old and even though the trees are dead, they can still stand for another 3000 years. I think they are tough and strong there for I took that pic.
Great photo! Glad to see you here :) look forward to more of your pictures from China!
Welcome to the challnge. You have made quite an entrynce with this epic picture. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming in a separate post later on today. Have a great day. Tomas
I chose this photo for today's Asian Sunday. I've just uploaded the photo to my feed and I think it's also a good way to get started with this challenge.
I took this photo in September 2013 in Singapore.
That day, we returned to the Marina Bay to meet friends and enjoyed this beautiful sunset togehther with a cold beer.
Singapore is always a great place to spend a nice time, especially in the evening.
For full view, please click on the image!
Another amazing image from your beautiful gallery. Thank you so much for sharing. Tomas
Thanks Tomas!
A sunrise photo of the Bayon temple, one of the many ruins within Angkor. This place is great to explore, but best come early in the morning while most of the tourists are still visiting Angkor Wat. In the morning you can really enjoy the area.
One of my fav temple in Angkor 😉
Faublous image! Thank you for your submission. Tomas
Today I take you to the submit of Kawah Igen and more precisely this a view of the crater. The contrast between this colourful lake and the sulfur rocks is wonderful.
Shot from the very top of the volcano, minutes after the sunrise... Enjoy!!!
Location: Banyuwangi, Indonesia.
I still remember the strong smell of the sulfur there 🙈😄
It was hard to breathe and once in the crater if somehow the wind would blow in your direction, it is just impossible to take a breath and your eye are crying and burning in the same time!!! But what a wonderful place to visit :)
Thank you so much for your participation. Stunning image. Tomas
Thank you Tomas :)
This beautiful image of sunset is taken at Versova beach in Mumbai, India yesterday. I went there to meet my friend because he loves beaches. Normally weather of city is hazy but tomorrow, It was golden to click image. Children were playing there under orange cloudy sky.
What a great capture. Beautiful sunset. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Tomas
I captured this tea plantation view at Cameron Highlands of Malaysia, when the sun came out of dark clouds after a shower. The tea produced here is distinguished for its golden color and smooth flavor. Here you can wander around, savor a cup in a tea house or visit the factories to learn about the tea making process.
I love it! So much green!
Thanks Tomas! =)
Inle Lake Fishermen
Inle Lake was my favourite place in Myanmar. The fishermen there have mastered a very different technique. They row their boat with one leg, stand on the other one and fish with a giant basket.
What a great entry. Thank you so much for your participation. Have a great day. Tomas
Thank you! Have a great day as well!
My entry for this challenge 😊
I captured this image at the summit Padar island couple years ago when it still pristine, and remote, not many tourist around. Now it has more developed and accessible but you still have to hike to the top to see this breathtaking and super colorful sunset scenery 🌅
Simply beautiful! What an experience to witness a sunset like this.
200 bsd are too much

In Southern Thailand, the beaches look like they were pulled right from some stock photo. I loved riding in the iconic long tail boats! However, as beautiful as this part of Thailand is, it also is very touristy and after some days I got tired of visiting beaches and travelled further north.

Clear turquoise beach always a beauty
Lake Baikal is one of the most mysterious and mysterious places on the planet. It is a place of power, where ancient spirits and various deities live. In one of the expeditions I met an icy spirit that lets out steam from the mouth ...
Where is this lake?
Asian part of Russia.
Haha, your description is funny... I was there too, but in summer time, so didn't see any icy spirit ;) This lake is more like a sea to me, so vast!
View From Shikha Village While On the way to Annapurna Base Camp. Shikha is a village in Myagdi District of Nepal which is famous spotpoint while trekking to Annapurna Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit.

Hunan, China
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
A couple of years back I went on an adventure to the location where"avatar " was based on, in Hunan China. this trip took me 2 days to get to from Hong Kong, it sure was a mission but well worth it.
It cannot get greener than this. This photo is taken from from my hometown back in Kerala, India. In background you can see mountains from the Western ghats. The best time I like to travel in Southern part of India is monsoon , where you get to see the lush green all over.So refreshing and peaceful !

These are the beautiful bioluminescent shrimp that can be found in the oceans of mainland Japan. The shrimp, none locally as "umibotaru" can be found from around July to October time. The shrimp are around 3mm in length and glow when they are disturbed by the oceans current.
Wow, amazing shot! Thank you for showing us this place. Where exactly is it in Japan? I've never seen this kind of shrimp, only been to the bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico, but that's in the water.
Thank you @itchyfeetdonica, this was taken in Okayama, Japan. (Halfway between Osaka and Hiroshima). We have lots of cool wildlife in Japan, here’s another post I did about some of them if you’re interested....

This is the photo I took in Tam Giang Lagoon, Viet Nam in the early morning. Tam Giang Lagoon is located at the merge of three big rivers including O Lau, Huong and Bo Rivers. Recognized as the richest source of flora and fauna in South East Asia, Tam Giang Lagoon in ancient Hue is an amazing place that is rarely discovered by tourists.

Early Morning, Wuhan. I was walking on the banks of the Yangtze River, and saw fishing boats casting out lines and fishing nets, ready for the first catch of the day. Despite being in such an industrial and modernised city, as displayed by the giant motorised coal ships that speed up and down the river, these fishermen still rely on the traditional hand steered fishing boat to make a living.
Mt Fuji, Japan
A hike up this mystic mountain is on of the highlights of many people's trip to Japan. I went up at night and down in the early morning when you can finally see the great spectacle around you. What a majestic scenery it is, a rough volcanic mountain who's shape has changed quite a few times.
Hi. I'm back from holiday so can share photos again! This is the Phoenix Hall taken at Byodo-in in Japan. Byodo-in is recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. The colours and details on of the hall was simply stunning. Because it is heritage listed, people do travel a long time just to see this magnificent building.
The Russian Far East is not a very simple region. Complex logistics and uneasy weather conditions. But thanks to this, there are many places where the human foot has almost never set foot. There you can see really wild animals. And if you do not scare the temperature of water at 7 degrees, then swim with them.
Literally in a few minutes the sea lions get used to us. After that dozens of animals spin around, who look with interest at unusual visitors. A fascinating adventure if you do not let them go too far. All the same, even small northern sea lions are twice as heavy as humans. Large males can weigh up to a ton. At the same time staying very mobile in the water.
Lucky you to see this sea lions. 😍
Took this in Singapore, during a family vacation
Great image. However, it is not meeting a requirement of 30-word description to be considered for the challenge. Thank you for your understanding. Tomas
Singapore is often referred to as a Garden City, with numerous species of trees and flowers all over the island, green parks, sanctuaries and lush displays of flowers and trees even indoors. Gardens by the Bay is a nature park spanning 101 hectares in central Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens and features 'Super Trees' which glow majestically in the night. The skyway between a few of the Super Trees is fantastic, don't miss out!
One of my trips around the world over the years was to Japan. We flew into Osaka and got to explore the surrounding prefectures for 2 whole weeks. These pictures are quite old (2001), back when I wasn't officially a photographer and was using a simple 35mm camera. But going through my old stuff I realized these aren't that bad for a complete newbie. I wish I had the original film so I could digitize them better.
This is Osaka Castle during the cherry blossom season:
Remember this is old 35mm film ;)
A couple years back I just happened to be in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on the same day as Genghis Khan's birthday celebrations. Ghengis Khan is revered there and the ceremony definitely showed their love for him. Pictured is part of a guard ceremony in Sükhbaatar square in the captial.
For today's entry, I have prepared another photo of the National Park of China trip. This photo is from Jiuzhaigou. It is a nature reserve and a national park. It is located in the north of Sichuan Province. It is a paradise for photographers. There are lots of beautiful sceneries.
You’ve got quite a lot of pictures from Sichuan right? =) I heard so many good things about Jiuzhaigou, but I’ve never been there, was only in Chengdu.
Yes :) I have more of them :)
The stunning reflection at West Lake, Hangzhou, China. The creation of God is amazing, it is a natural reflection without editing! West Lake is one of the top-rated lake in China with 6.5 km².
Took this picture of this amazing little guy in Thailand on an elephant sanctuary. These elephants were rescued from other camps that did not treat them well and live their lives in the mountains outside Chiang Mai. This guy was only 4 years old and was already much bigger than me and extremely playful.
Thanks for the photo contest @czechglobalhosts!

Saman Dance, Cultural Heritage From Indonesia To The World
This photo was taken during my journey to Gayo Lues District, Aceh, Indonesia, to witness the spectacular Saman dance performed by 12,262 Gayo people. This Saman Dance has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage on November 24, 2011 in Bali, is now the second time in this dance event by re-entering the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI), having previously received a record with her performance by 5054 dancers.
Best Regards @zikmaulana
Wow, impressive!
Wow never saw this dance before
I took this photo the other day with my mobile phone, in front of Oriental Plaza at Wangfujing, a downtown area in Beijing.
The golden and red decorations are to clebrate the coming Chinese New Year, which is just a few days away. According to the Chinese calenda, 2018 is the year of the dog, representing great happiness and prosperity.
I wish all Steemians a happy and prosperous 2018.
Special thanks to @czechglobalhosts for organizing such meaningful contests.
This photo belongs to my travel to Northern areas of Pakistan. I took it while having a walk on road in gamba town of Skardu district. Skardu is a beautiful valley with awesome scenery. It's in great mountains of korakoram where K-2 is located. Skardu valley has cold desert, mighty Indus river flowing through it. And a lot of orchards of cherry and apricots are there. I recommend everyone with the means to travel there to see the beauty of awesome nature. Mountains in background are almost half covered by snow.
I was captured that amazing festival at Kalaw,Shan State,Myanmar.
Pretty colors
Thanks @rinawonderlands
I took this photo during our week long trekking trip through the Kashmir Valley. In this picture you can see the lake of Krishna and the lake of Vishnu surrounded by lush green meadows and magnificent mountains covered with snow. The views from up here were simply breathtaking.
I got invited to teach a photography lighting workshop in Hong Kong; even though this image doesn't involve lighting it does capture quite a moment that I love. I was walking around Kowloon and stepped into a restaurant where this guy was slurping down some noodles. He has some old school phones and totally enthralled in the text. I also chose something different than a landscape.
My only visit to Asia was a few years ago in Israel. Photo is from Gamla National Park which is located in the north of the country. In the middle of the Golan Heights. This park is very interesting. There is a deep The Black Gorge, Ayit Waterfall, burial place from the Stone Age and ruins of the village of Yehudiya.
This is a photo thst I took in Beijin, China. This name is the Great Wall. The Great Wall is one of the intangible cultural heritages in the world and remains a mystery to this day. It is said that the entire wonders of the Great Wall can also be seen from the moon.!
Two men were talking in front of the gate of the Baiturrahman grand mosque. This mosque located in the center of Banda Aceh city, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is a symbol of religion, culture, spirit, strength, struggle and nationalism of the Acehnese people. This mosque is a landmark of Banda Aceh and has survived the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
This is Pokhara,Nepal also called city of lakes.Boating in such peaceful was too amazing. Pokhara can be the cheapest and best place for holidays.
This place is well known as "the hundred islands" it is located in alaminos pangasinan Philippines. Together with my family, we went there just to unwind and the kids really enjoyed swimming there. This view is taken at the top of the governor's island, one of the hundred islands.
This is very a beautiful place called "Teerah Valley" in Orakzai Agency Pakistan and is federally administered area. It is very cold area and is covered with snow in winter. There are amazing green mountains and high hills. God has gifted the area with amazing natural beauty. I would like to share this stunning photograph with my fellow steemian with the hope that they will like it. I am thankful to @czechglobalhosts to held this contest.
