This is the cobra wall, in funeral complex of Djoser of Saqqara, Egypt. These female cobras are a symbol of the monarchy evoking the goddess Ouadjet de Bouto, protector of the North, who embody the protective and destructive power of the pharaoh.
Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Waiting for the sun to rise behind himalayan mountains from poon hill... a particular moment! Many Trekkers sleep in Ghorepani a village near Poon Hill and get up early to see the sunrise above the 8000nds Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Annapurna. It's awesome.

City contrasts
That must be some fun for as to live in a house with windows looking on a Great Pyramid of Giza. But don't think its too much of a fun for a local citizens of the city, with quite poor infrastructure and overall low living level (well, comparing to top EU countries and USA)
Shot from the moving bus. Nice view with quite a historical contrast in one frame
Enjoy!

Mountain Road in Morocco
This photogenic road marks the ascend from Tinghir valley to the Atlas mountains. Despite its location between the popular tourist destinations Marrakech and the Sahara, this region of Morocco gets only few visitors.

Who doesnt wanna get to see some elephants in the wild. I guess here in Botswana you can still find a lot of them in their natural environment roaming freely and the street signs tell you when to look out for them. This is Africa!
This is the small temple of Abu Simble, yes there is a much bigger temple right next to this one.
This is the temple dedicated to Hathor that was built by Ramesses II to honor both Hathor as the goddess of love and music and his wife Nefertari. The façade has six standing colossal statues of over 33 feet/10 meters high. On each side of the entrance, two statues of Ramesses and of Nefertari dressed as Hathor. There is also smaller statues of their children next to them.
