Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Africa.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

This is a photo that I took in Xinjiang, China. That's a Euphrates Poplar Forest which is about 6000 years old. Euphrates Poplar can live up to 3000 years old and even though the trees are dead, they can still stand for another 3000 years. I think they are tough and strong there for I took that pic.

It was early evening and I was walking along the coastline at the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney with my camera and tripod looking for something to shoot. I was almost at the end the the trail, close to Mrs Macquarie's Chair, when I was treated with this beautiful skyline of the City of Sydney, with all the colours reflecting on the water. I spend quite a bit of time there, perfecting my shots. And here is the best one.

To continue the series of frozen Baltic Sea coastline, here is quite a special and minimalist shot of the stone completely frozen into the ice. Stunning colors of very very cold winter sunset, cause by still very high humidity of the air and unique singh-ray color polarizing filter mounted. Totally phantasmagorical view. Enjoy it!

I took this photo in summer 2015 when I had the opportunity to visit Mukuni Village on the Zambia side of Victoria Falls. This village has existed since the 13th Century and the descendants of those settlers still live here. While tourists can come and visit, this is an actual working village, not a tourist attraction. I even got to meet the chief of the village. It was an incredibly memorable experience!
Deadvlei, Namibia
Deadvlei was once under water. It’s believed that roughly one thousand years ago, the Tsauchab River flooded, creating shallow pools with a clay pan underneath. In the shallow lake formed by the flooding, acacia trees flourished. But approximately two hundred years later, the climate changed. The area became dry and drought-stricken, and the massive dunes cut the area off from the river.
Oddly, the acacia trees that flourished when Deadvlei was awash with water are still here. The air here is too dry for them to decompose; instead, they stand like blackened monuments to the passage of time.

Synchronized swimming
Not everyone knows that near the island of Mauritius, large herds of sperm whales live and grow their progeny. When we found out about this, we decided to fly there to check whether this is true. Our dream was at least to see these magnificent animals. Who could have known then that we not only managed to see the sperm whales, but swim with them and even practice synchronized swimming.
Wow! That is just spectacular! What a feeling this must be... Actually, I would be scared:)....
In Sudan, there was a war for many years. As a result, the country was divided into two. In Southern Sudan, and now there is no peace. In the north it is relatively calm, but everything that can be destroyed is in ruins. Then there you can see the remains of military equipment. Some samples seem to lie here for centuries. I saw guns cast in the 19th century.
And those who came here to dive in the 90's saw burning aircraft near the airport ..

Shot at Hurghada, Egypt while last days of our trip and staying at the hotel. Well, good chance to shoot some sunrise, since coastline is just near the hotel and no need to go or drive far away, though still need to get up quite early

The Sanetti Plateau, Ethiopia.
The largest high altitude plateau In Africa and home to the critically endangered Ethiopian wolf. I had to run a fair distance to catch up with the pack to capture this image. My lungs where burning but it was worth it!
This is something I did not know that we have wolves in Ethiopia, what an experience to see these lovely animals. Love the red colouring with black tails. Very envious of you seeing this @timspawls
Thanks @joanstewart. We do indeed. They where called Simien foxes for a while but DNA test have proved they are true wolves. They hunt rodents up there so although they live in packs the hunt alone. I grew up in Ethiopia so I have been lucky enough to see them many times :)

These are the desert highways in Morocco. Road tripping through Morocco is not without its challenges, but it definitely gives you the opportunity to see some of the best parts of the country, some of which are very remote and with almost zero traffic. The massive sand dunes and rock formations are fabulous to see!

I took this photo of a mother rhino and her cute, playful cub while rhino trekking on foot in Ziwa rhino and wildlife ranch, Uganda. It was quite thrilling as rhinos can be dangerous but these two seemed to be quite welcoming of our presence.

Photo was taken in Namibia’s most famous game reserve Etosha. It shows coexistence of different animal species. We can see big African elephant walking among many tiny springboks. Photo below is one of my favorites from Namibia’s trip and I hope you will like it too.

I took this photo on my trip to Tozeur in south Tunisia. It is a desert and I went on a Camel ride. Nice city and the people were very friendly. I enjoyed eating fresh dates and relaxing !

It was during my first visit to Egypt that we hopped on some camels in order to visit the pyramids in proper fashion. After an hour or so of humping around the Sahara from pyramid to pyramid and the sphinx, we headed back through the open sands. Another group was passing through right under the setting sun. I knew this would be a great shot, but I only had seconds to grab it until the caravan went too far, and trying to take pictures while the camel below you is lurching back and forth was quite difficult! I only got 2 frames, and this is my favorite shot from that camel journey.

Sossusvlei, located in the Namin Naukluft park.
Famous for it red sand dunes.
The best time to view the sossusvlei is close to sunrise and sunset. The colors are strong and constantly chanching.
This is Marrakech at it's best! We spent all the day at that market hiding for the sun threw the narrow streets. As soon as the sun goes down, these streets turn alive. At this market you have over a hundred choices of things to eat.
African Fish Eagle
Riding thermals up high, calling out the song of Africa, sending shivers down your spine, a distinct call known throughout sub-Saharan Africa, found near large bodies of water where food is found.
Graceful large eagle with distinctive markings of white upper body and tail, a reddish brown belly, with black swooping wings.
Living on the East Coast of Southern Africa this bird will be a regular to see.
Photograph was taken on the St Lucia Lake in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Perched up high in a tree will swoop down to collect a fish for a meal, sadly I did not witness that.

Ota, Nigeria
I'm actually African, Nigerian in fact. Recently I traveled to Ota, in the southwestern part of the country. I was fast asleep one evening and the heat was a killer. I put on a singlet and found myself outside. I took a stroll and it was all so beautiful, but the sunset stood out the most. I took this on my iPhone!
One day my brother and I went on an excursion here. We were to enter the jungle and take some beautiful pictures. I chickened out though. But not before we took a picture of this beautiful stream.
This is a plantain and bamboo plantation taken at Ogun State, Nigeria- It is also a haven for all kinds of amazing animals-. The forests in this part of Africa are most amazing to behold at this time of the year.
Pyramid of Djoser, located in Saqqara necropolis, near the city of Memphis, Egypt. I was more impressed by this pyramid than by the Great Pyramid of Giza. The site is very calm, we were alone to visit, along with a few horses that where trying to find something to eat.

Yeah. I think writing down might have its advantages as well as disadvantages too.
When writing, you might not really get to pit down everything in the head.
But then in a video or an audio, u can get to say everything that comes to the mind.
But currently, I do more of writing cuz I'm not all that pretty to appear on a video. Lol.

A camping trip in the incredible western desert of Egypt. Imagine an immense silence: No wind. No humans. No traffic. No birds. I heard nothing but this place. So many sand grains left in my hair from rolling and playing like a kid on these empty fields. The only visitors were the scarab beetles and footprints of the white desert fox.

This is a picture of one of the most famous lakes namely Dal lake of Kashmir. One of the most amazing sunsets over the lake adding to the beauty of the lake.
Recently , I escorted my little cousin to Tinubu Square in Lagos Nigeria for an assignment due to be submitted by Friday, what flatters me the most is how the greenery of the well groomed plants blends well with the water fountains to give a very breathtaking and grand scenery
Poland, Europe
Poland is 30 times smaller compared to the US! Although we are a small country, we have a variety of magical and unique places, starting from the sea, through the lowlands, ending in the mountains.
